He did say it was my risk if it broke - any links to get a new blade from Ebay ?

Think I'll get it done elsewhere to be on the safe side.......

Shall I get the blade cut before I put it back in the key ?

Thanks guys

I took my old one off easily when I opened the key (in fact it sprung all over the floor........) - so I take it I'm missing a locking pin ?

Anyone got a piccy of inside their key ?

Cheers for the Ebay link mate, bought that one, comes with new fixing pins :)

I'll let you know how things go.........

Hi Guys,

Just joined the forum and read this massive thread! I have an Aorsa(Second car, A4 is the other!!) And I decided to try a flip key. I have already bought one from e bay with a blank blade.

Now from what I can glean it matters what make you have. The key I bought is a Siemens 7M3 959 753.

So am I peeing in the wind trying to get this to work on an Arosa? Do I need a hella version?

Cheers

Ok i have an 05SX leon

Got a 434mhz Key from a VW and my key says 433mhz but i heard this doesnt matter. Well mine doesn't want to work.

They are both hella keys. and im just trying to get the central locking working.

I put my original key in the ignition and switch s the dials light up

I then press lock on the new key and nothing happens.

is this a lost cause?

is anybody after a Siemens SME flip key.

I saw a picture and it had 753 on it but when i got it, it turned out to be a siemens one!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. it says

7M3 959 753, simens SME, 433.92mhz, 5WK4 6011

I paid 32 for it (i know why now :() it has no blank blade but i have 2 on teh way.

I will accept 30 posted for it, or a swap for a 753AG.

No you need to turn ignition on with spare, and mechinally lock the car with another key, within one second you need to press unlock or lock on your key fob.

I have a question that I don't think has been asked before. I got a flip key working with my Ibiza Mk4. I now have a Golf Mk4 and want to re-use the key. Obviously I'll get a new blank blade and sort that out, but does anything different need to be done to RE-code the key, so it works the Golf's central locking?

I ran through the central locking coding steps, but the beep steps didn't work. I'm not sure if that's because the key already has info stored about another car? There's also an aftermarket alarm/immobilizer system fitted to the car, so perhaps that's actually the cause?

But if someone could confirm whether following the steps again but with a different car just overwrites any info previously stored?

Cheers,
Steve

Right, key is now cut. And now the complicated bit of programming it. Just tried doing the central locking, original remote key in ignition with it on, lock with new key manually, press unlock button but there was no beep from the horn. Am I doing something wrong?

Ok, so apparently the reason my remote won't work is due to being the wrong one. I have part number HL0 1J0 959 753 N. But I am looking on Ebay and there is a key that should work, part number HL0 1J0 959 753 A but it also says that its the same part number as mine. (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Key-Remote...67QQihZ005QQcategoryZ9889QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) So I ask the question, if they are the same part number (?) why won't mine work?
