flip key info thread

Another flip key set up and working. Well the remote is, not had time to do the transponder yet. And to confirm, new key is 434MHZ old key is 433MHZ and no problems

has anyone managed to get their hands on the little badge for the key as my local dealer is taking ages

I used the part number listed in this thread, local dealer (Wolverhampton) took three working days. Spot on .

found a new key on ebay, with uncut blades, it is 434mhz, my current key says 434mhz so im assuming this is fine? also i took apart the spare key and noticed the little glass thing, do i just take this out, stick it in the flip key then program ?

pretty much mate yeah, central locking programing is easy as, and the instrictions on the first post of this threaad are all you need, be very careful not to smash the glass transponder, you should be fine but just be careful you might want to glue it into the new key if it rattles. then get the key cut at timpsons or similar and your laughing bud. in all mine cast me £28 total

cool, few eyed up on ebay, just need to wait till pay day which is thursday will try do it over the weekend, so if need be i can glue the glass transponder in place slightly? need to order the little seat thing aswell, can i order it from any seat place?

tbh there a barsteward to get hold of by all accounts mate, i was lucky that my local dealer found one in his draw, the part no is on this thread somewhere tho so it's worth a try

For anyone struggling to remove immobiliser chip - I've just used Loctite glue remover gel. Covered chip & left over night. Piece of cake!!!

Mine cost £1.50, go to a proper locksmith rather than Timpsons etc.

okay got key today its in two halfs now, now what? how the hell do i get the VW badge off lol? try get a tiny screwdriver to flip it up but it just scraps the emblem

got badge off and unscrewed screw now i cant get the other bit apart? dont seem to wanna move? any ideaqs

done it now just need to code it, if i do it now without my key cut does it matter? will get key cut tomorrow. If coded to new flip today will it still be ok to use normal key 2moro? guessing the remote wont work ? but if i use flip key it wil then other key in ignition lol

right tried to code car but it aint working, stuck remote key in ignition turned on, locked door with non remote key, removed remote from ignition, pressed unlock, waited 6 secs then unlock again and nothing it happening

my key is 434mhz and so is the flip one!! Brand new so he said, maybe new battery or something? :S

got new battery and figured it was that, flip key is now working just need to order my seat badge for it and get key cut
