did anyone find out if the transponder can be reprogrammed with vagcom or did u deffo need a virgin AKTP2?

I am also very interested to know the answer to this.
When trying to get my spare key transponder out, after 1hr 45mins of carefully trying to scrap away the glue, the glass broke (i presume its useless now).
So i have the transponder that came with the flip key (key had an already cut blade so i presume it belongs to some car somewhere).

So, can i reprogramme the transponder that came with the flip key to match my car?
Guess ill still need to get the SKC code somehow though. But can this transponder be used or do i also have to get a new non-programmed transponder?

Thanks

Hi, greetings all,

Read your posts with interest on this key business. When I bought my 99 seat toledo 1.9 TDI S it didnt come with a remote fob ( owner said he had lost it).

the drivers door lock module was also shot ( would unlock but not lock)

Ive now put a replacement module in the door, so the central locking works fine on the key, then picked myself a good looking 3 button 434mhz key off ebay for £12.50, code is HLO 1K0 959 753 G which according to this site:

http://vorsicht.org.hk/forums/showthread.php?t=1819

and as the advert said, is a 434mhz key. As you guys have said it shouldnt matter what key as long as 433 or 434.

However, no amount of different methods will code the key to the car, ive tried the method on here, page 2 or 3 of this post:

ign on, non remote key, manually lock door press unlock button, 6 seconds, unlock again ign off

and the method on my autodata cd:

ign on, non remote key
manually lock drivers door ( i bought a blade and had it cut at timpsons)
press and hold unlock
manually unlock and lock drivers door
release unlock button
switch ign off

is there another central locking module in the car that could be damaged?

bit pissed off really, was looking forward to having remote central locking at last!

you could try vag com to do it.

but it looks like this key is from the hong kong market and may not work with the uks cars (i made this assumption from he hk forum in the link you posted)

Nowhere near, i.e. Norway.
I've tried EVERY method I've come across for all kinds of VAGs, but nothing works.

Yes, new battery. Yes, it actually transmits, checked at a dealer. Yes, my original key can lock/unlock.

I'm suspecting that the MHz issues, in fact IS an issue! [:@]
