These are also from earlier...

Few CFs in first run, but to be expected when going from under 2k really!

2nd log I think is in 2nd gear, (I left it logging for ages, just had a scan through for a section with a reasonable run from low-high revs) and shows my CFs more realistically.....

you think the timing is being pulled back because the mixture is too lean resulting in hotter cylinder temps + therefore more knock?

Think those have come out a bit funny, not certain what's all being measured in the second block? First one is showing some corrections still, think possibly a bit worse than in your original logs?

Possible I suppose but that's pushing the limit of my knowledge on this. Hopefully someone else can jump in!

Have you checked to see that your injectors aren't leaking? The top of the inlet ports on your intake manifold will seem to be wet/oily if they are. Could be worth checking the injectors aren't blocked too, obviously be careful to clean around them before removing so bits of dirt don't fall into the cylinders.

Have you checked the vac line going to the top of the fuel pressure regulator also?

just edited to show values, sorry about that!

Yeah there are a few CFs, but the top one, acellerating in 5th from 1800rpm, the cylinders are gunna get pretty warm! so a few are to be expected really....

was probably mine, first post in this thread... Chris GTL logged it originally for me...

Any idea what could be causing it james? you use unisettings right? rekon its worth turning up the fuel enrichment on this and relogging, to see whether or not the fuel pump/injectors can actually provide enough fuel to richen out the mix - find out if its a request or a supply problem?

If so... primary fuel enrich, or secondary fuel enrich??? which one should I change?

i wouldnt mess with unisettings when requested is lean tbh mate. id go back to forge and ask them to check it out on dyno first. your cfs arent too bad tbh, but fuelling is a concern. also maf reuest looking low.

I guess what we're hoping to see is the fuelling richening up as the revs (and thus cylinder temps) rise, thus stopping the CFs. What's interesting in my case is that I don't see any CFs but yet my fuelling isn't richening up either. Now your car has caught whatever ailment mine has!

James, I don't have a Forge map (or any remap AFAIK) but mine is doing the same as this one, maybe that's what you're thinking of? I know you've posted in my thread too. Note that these logs here don't go all the way up to redline,

@ leon cupra r, still could do with seeing Block 032 readings while sitting with engine off but power on. Also, did you get the Forge remap or was it already on the car? If you got it then could be worth speaking to Forge?

Left a log running on block 003 on way home just to see what MAF peaks at... highest value in there was 195.58gs... which is more like it, but even this is a bit lower than you would expect....

I couldnt remember the order of blocks you said to log 8 bit, so I made it up as I went along lol... heres the results

This run was up a hill, really started to struggle about 6200rpm, felt like it was dyeing when those CFs started creeping in... I did advance the timing with unisettings though so that would explain why theres more CFs than previously... might turn this back a touch tomorrow...

Fuelling was hitting 0.8xx on that run!!! dont know whats changed but thats more like what we need aint it james?

OK mate will do that tomorrow....

Yeah I thought it should probably be richening earlier on, but at least it is riching out a little bit!!

Forge dont have rollers so it was just a generic re-flash when they mapped it...

you said MAF request was looking low? Is there a maf request log or was that just a typo?

OK that's looking a bit better, no CF's anyway - can you log block 031 again now and see if the fuelling's changed any?

Airflow is still low tho, looks like you're making about 224bhp, or at least that's what your airflow is good for. Have you got an OEM airbox, snorkel and a panel filter you can try? I only gained about 2 or 3 g/s swapping my airbox and Pipercross panel filter for a big Jetex cone, am wondering if maybe some cars just don't respond well to big Jetex cones...

Be interested to find out if changing the spark plugs makes any difference, I'm getting mine done tomorrow so fingers crossed...

I think my old airbox is in the cupboard... will try dig it out and try tomorrow....

I have a piece of 3inch metal tubing running from where the old airbox used to draw the feed behind the headlight up to next to the jetex... I'm unsure how much benefit (if any) this provides, although its not covering any of the filter so should not be restricting it.

Yeah I reckoned it to be back around 225bhp... pretty poor for a mapped car!

The plugs have literally only been changed between 1-2 months ago so SHOULD be fine, although the state of my last ones makes me wonder if theres something wrong...I'm hoping it was just the CTS making the engine chuck loads of extra fuel in on occasions leaving them covered in soot, but hopefully will see tomorrow. Get a new CTS on there to rule this out the equation in the future too.

I know it sounds horrible but I'm glad youre having similar problems 8bit! double the chance of finding the fix! lol

Oh and regarding the airbox/jetex, it definately felt better when I stuck the Jetex on, so I'm not holiding up much hope for increased MAF readings with the box tomorrow....

Yeah thats with timing back at 0 in unisettings...

Im using... I think they are bosch ones, standard temp grade. I just went and got whatever the computer recommended for our cars at GSF after I had problems with the last batch that were a grade colder than standard. Seeing as I am wanting to advance the timing when its all sorted I will probably give colder plugs another shot....

Hmmm. I'm using NGK standard temp ones and my timing is not as good as what i'd like it to be.

Might give Bosch another try!!
