would like a bigger turbo but is it really worth havin the problems
I am the only person I know to have such problems with a diesel hybrid. Petrols seem to be a bit tempremental but the dervs are normally just a case of fit the turbo, map it, job done.
I'm with you I'm afraid...
Just spoke to Ashleys dad, and it stuck at 20psi and hit limp mode on him.... indicating an actuator issue or vanes
Won't be overly pleased with Turbo Dynamics if this is the case
It didnt stick at 20psi, when going up hills, the boost tends to hold at 20psi just pulling the car up the hill. Which is exactly what it did on the way home. He was going up a hill, the turbo built up to keep the car at the same speed, holding 20psi for a while sends it into limp mode everytime. It isnt going into limp mode if you go over 20psi, only if it's pulling.
I don't see how the map sensor was soaked in oil as when i took it off today it was spotless and it was a 130 mile trip back from P-torque to get home. Surely this distance would be enough to build up "a pool" of oil in the intercooler pipework? But as I've said, it was spotless but I have moved the map sensor now, and it's still overboosting. I havent had it in limp mode as I havent gone up any hills to put the car under pressure, but I'm sure it'd go into limp mode again.
Will, I will check my emails as soon as I get home.
