Moving the MAP sensor will hopefully sort things out mate. Fingers crossed for you mate.

You can see where it is atm. So just flip that pipe over and HOPEFULLY all will be sorted! I'm literally praying it is! And my bottom arm bush is split in half apparently. Do they do a Cupra upgrade?

I'd say it was the left hand side one by the sounds of it but i'll do both while I'm at it.

Yea, just flip it over bud.

You could fit a catch can to stop oil getting into intake system..

I've heard there are a few negatives to fitting catch cans as there are positives. I dunno what they are! But I shouldn't have to. Sooty hasn't, T.Spark hasn't, Phillsp I think his name is hasn't. So like I say - hope it's just that pipe needs flipping over.

oh i see. hopefully it is just a school boy error on your behalf then and wills right that its a oily sensor.

I hope so! I really do. I just don't understand why I ran the FORGE pipework like it for a year, maybe more and have no problems whatsoever - then as soon as I go hybrid, it's doing it no end! I'm just really confused!

From what dad has said, I can't fault Will or his customer service. He's wanted this sorted as much as I have and he's been working on it all day and tried pretty much everything by the sounds of it. But at the end of the day, I'm not gonna be happy until the car is running right! And that's no dig at anyone! But I'm not gonna be satisfied or happy until I know I can drive the car without overboosting or limp mode!

So hopefully tomorrow will sort things. The next few days are what will really count. I might just go to Santa Pod on Sunday - pure and simply for the long drive there. As it went into limp mode twice last time on the way there, and twice on the way back. The good test would be to see if it does it on the same route. But then should I drive it with bottom arm bushes split?

could be fatal with them bushes like that. i expect the extra power (hybrid) is pushing more oil over the sensor than what it was before the hybrid hence the pain in ass your getting.
them bushes are pressed in aswell arnt they?

Dont have a clue tbh! It's not knocking all the time, only on a decent bump. Might risk it tbh!

Just noticed that Tall Pall's Ibiza had the map sensor in the same place as mine! Just hoping that mine has some weird fetish that likes it the other way up!

I'll give it a whirl in the morning anyway. Can't do any harm.

I PRAY that it is this!!!! I really do! If not, I honestly dunno what to do next! :(

Roll on tomorrow morning.

Are you talking about the TCA rear bush? If you are then you should be ok driving with them split as nothing will fall appart. I can imagine there are a fair few Ibiza driving around with split bushes! Get them upgraded to the Cupra spec ones as soon as you can....will firm up your front end too...help it control all that hybrid powaaahhhh

Hi Guys

I will contact Ashley directly after this post, as its hard work keeping up with all the posts on this thread now :cartman:

Yesterday we checked and tested the following:

Boost Control Valve duty cycle
MAP sensor (changed and saw less of a boost spike)
All intercooler hoses checked
All vacuum hoses checked
Multiple logs made on the dyno and these confirmed that the boost is going over what the Map is requesting (see below)

AshleyLogs.jpg

We fitted a new MAP sensor, but it was literally in a pool of oil.

If there is still an overboost situation after this, then the turbo will have to be sent back to turbo dynamics for inspection, as its the only other possibility now.

Nice update Will.

This is exactly what was happening with my car before I went hybrid. I just hope it is the map sensor.

I hope for your sake ash it is the map sensor, if not it looks like turbo going back for inspection :( But in my honest opinion, I think the map sesnor is ok where it is after looking at tall pauls and a couple of others, I personally feel it's the turbo now mate :(

I'm with you I'm afraid...

Just spoke to Ashleys dad, and it stuck at 20psi and hit limp mode on him.... indicating an actuator issue or vanes

Won't be overly pleased with Turbo Dynamics if this is the case
