Car developed a weird noise from the accessory belt, "Uh oh, one of the pulleys has gone" I thought.

Got the front end up in the air as I was swapping wheels and checking bolts etc (was running far too little camber) when I saw something coming off the subframe.

Good news! The pulleys aren't about to bite the bullet and leave me stranded! Bad news, it's developed a power steering fluid leak (the sound was the PAS pump running a tad dry). I can live with that
It's certainly better news 👍

The accessory belt clutch pulley can cause interment issues its recommend its changed every 40k , it can lock and take out the tensioner.. there not expensive for a genuine ini pulley mine cost £24 at Vw exact same pulley is £163 just in a different box.. mine was fine but there was an odd noise so changed it anyway and it was the original pulley as ini did an update on them
