yep and put the value of the car reasonable as too low the insurance can go up
I put the value of my car at 10k on my insurance quotes. But if they say it's not worth that, then I'll be saying to them find me a like for like for cheaper ie 20k miles, good condition everywhere, no rust. Never had an advisory on its mot's. And I'll take that car instead of the cash

i would drop that as insurance will ignore miles ect and just look at age, make another email with a different address and see what you get..

You’re right, unfortunately that’s not how insurance companies work.
I’ve had so many conversations over the years with different companies about the prices to actually replace our cars’ should the worst happen.
I’ve had other cars insured with specialist companies who offer an agreed valuation.
Got one for our mk1 mx5, my mate has one on his focus RS, 04 reg same year and mileage as my Cupra R but unfortunately our car’s don’t fit their criteria!? That’s what I’ve been told every year. ( not as desirable as a Ford apparently)
Last year however I spoke to someone who said next year as it would be over 20 years old he would speak to the underwriter and see if it would be accepted on a classic/ Specilist policy which would include an agreed valuation.
it’s an additional cost of £20 for the first year, and would have to be backed up with photos of the car and evidence of similar cars on the market.
I have been saving adverts for a few years now with Mk1 ‘R’s for sale as evidence. Lol
So if I get anywhere this time I will report back on here.

I got a quote for classic car insurance not long ago. Let me see if I can find it. I went on quotezone, it was £1600. Bit have to do under 6k miles

Some tw at dumped a plastic bottle on top of the metal drain outside my house, which led to me sliding onto the kerb and scraping the face of the wheel along it 😤

So frustrating, especially when it’s not your fault.
I washed my daily legacy the other week and found a small scuff on the near side front. I’m convinced it was a pot hole that caused it cause you know if you scrape a kerb don’t you.
A few days earlier was out with the kids in it and hit this bloody hole that shuddered through the car and I’m convinced it was that that did it.
It’s not that bad but the wheels were unmarked prior to that, good going for an 08 plate estate.

That's so unlucky. I presume it's fixable
