Been to TPS and bought a new G31 sensor (also known as MAP/IAT sensor). Fingers crossed this will see the car run properly and make more power as it should.

Will fit tonight after the gym if it's light enough.

If you're going to the gym, i can't see a G31 sensor being that heavy?

Haha - I did mean day light.

Anyway, attempted to fit the sensor Wed and Thurs nights. Wednesday couldnt be done as ETKA shows the sensor on the incorrect boost pipe, and last night I couldn't do it as access to the sensor is very tight due to the air con unit so I need a set of hose clip pliers and I'll just take the boost pipe off and do it that way.

Finally managed to change the G31/IAT sensor on the Leon today. Was a bit of a ball ache to do due to restricted access all round.

My hose clip pliers arrived this morning so I set about it even though I'm full of cold.

Back on the ramps, undertray off small 90 degree boost pipe off, then the nightmare of trying to take the black plastic pipe off which houses the sensor. Access is very tight and one of the two screws which secure the pipe to the sump so I tried another way.

Long story short I ended up persisting with the restrictions and got all the screws out and just removed the boost pipes as one piece.

Once I'd done this it was pretty straightforward.

Few photos of the work.

This is the pipe which houses the sensor

New and old

This one comes off to take the whole thing off in one and is a pita to get back on by itself which is why I did it the long way lol.

Everything together including the new sensor

Glad I won't have to do this again whilst I own this car lol.

So yeah I have no spare wheel and turns out also no jack or wheel brace.

After a visit to a mate came back with a jack and an 18" spare wheel from a golf gti, should get me to the garage to repair it tomorrow

Probably the only time I'll rock 18s lol

Not mine but my brothers MK2 FR was stolen off his drive last night/early morning. Thieves somehow got the keys through the letterbox.

CK08GVO is the reg, if anyone around Middlesbrough/Teesside has seen it, not that he'll want it back.

Whats the waiting time on a triple r, might order when I get home from work.

Have a cupra 08 and rear door wont open when unlocking with key. Only opens from inside so collecting a rear passenger door lock mechanism and hoping this fixes the issue!
