Blimey, that filter big enough. To be fair it looks spot on because you have moved the battery, old filter looked a bit lost compared to this one

Well its all done, the new bits of hose have arrived and the new DV port is on, really happy with it, the car seems to pick up a bit better now and its definitely smoother.

A Few pic's for you to look at.

Well, look what came today.

Its for the new engine BUT i couldn't wait so i swapped my Cam cover for the new one, which also happened to have the Adaptors for my Tfsi coil packs so i decided to fit them at the same time.

So after i finished that i had to cut all the braided hose to size, test fitted it a few times just to make sure it all fitted properly, the only change to my original plan was that i had planned to use two straights out of the catch tank but i realised that a 90 degree would be alot better for the hose from the crank, but that was supposed to go on the top for the vent pipe so until the other 90 degree fitting turns up i have put a filter on the top, just hope i don't die from the fumes getting into the car, i have been for a short test drive and all seemed well. I am really happy with the fit , i may polish the catch tank or may paint it black not sure yet. I also re routed the water pipe from the swirl pot to the expansion tank so it goes under the fuel rail , if you look at some of my other engine pics it used to run along the front of the cam cover, its a bit neater now.

A few pics of the finished install.

This is the adaptor that fits into the top of the oil filter housing so i can use the AN fittings, it replaces the plastic 90 degree elbow.

Cheers mate, yeah tbh i am leaning towards the black but which type the gloss black to match the swirl pot, or the wrinkle finish to match the cam cover and charge pipe

Yeah it is an12 anything smaller can lead to engine damage as it can cause excess crank pressure as the hose diameter is a lot smaller than the OE one. I had it made for me if you send ma a pm with your email i will send you his contact details.

I have also got a new coilover set up, i have gone for the AP X set with adjustable damping.

I am also fitting new outer cv joints and front wheel bearings, so going to be busy this weekend. :D But the main thing is i can get the rods and rings to my engine builder, he will then ballence the bottom end and make up the short engine, i need to find the part number for the large port head inlet gasket, then the head work will be done, so i should get the engine back some time next month, cant fkn wait tbh.
I have also got some V banding parts from Sam, there is a bolt on flange for the down pipe and a weld on part with the Lambda sensor port in it all in 3" to match my exhaust which is waiting to go on.
