Found a stream of water running into drivers footwell :(

order some butyl tape from Ebay

had a chance to fit it today so here is what I did:

2012-04-20165933.jpg

Door card removed here you can see the inner Steel Panel which is leaking below the speaker

2012-04-20170607.jpg

Also spotted a liquid trace which i thought may be due to the Wind deflectors I have fitted but I now think it is the silicone spray I used in the window runners

2012-04-20171628.jpg

Here you can see the damaged rubber seal strip - it was full of water like a sponge and falling apart

Door in bits

2012-04-20173217.jpg

I Could not remove all the rubber strip - Sticky stuff remover could!

The Butyl Strip

2012-04-20174329.jpg

New strip on door panel - Double layer on bottom edge!!

2012-04-20174338.jpg

This was a PITA to remove

2012-04-20174347.jpg

I boroke the clip but it still locks onto the lock mechanism

2012-04-20175839.jpg

Remembered to tighten the Window locators
2012-04-20175850.jpg

Window back in - All done :)

Car has started throwing up

p0684.jpg

If cleared when engine cold code comes back instantly on start up if engine warm no code on start up - Going to get a set of glow plugs to begin and see where I end up.

I have not yet replaced any Glow plugs in this car.

My experience with polished, lacquered wheels is an anual refurb! They look awesome but are a complete bitch to keep that way even with all the correct cleaning precautions! But they do look awesome, so do it!

Be careful on the TDi as the vibrations on tick-over are really increased with the poly dog-bone. I hated it on my Leon and was going to switch it back to a new OEM one. If you can, have a sit in someone elses car before doing it as you might find it too intrusive. I did, but then I'm getting old these days!
