Coming along nicely. How do you find the Godspeed brakes as I'm going to be buying some soon? I found your FMIC fitting guild in the MK1 section very helpful when fitting mine. Also it's good to know of your side line.

I'm certain i've seen those engine mounts before.... ;) good job mate

Thanks Mo - Yes I am sure you are familiar with the car those mounts came off from what I have heard

im sure i have also liking the primer look

Cheers mate - never thought about it but it does sort of look like primer! The colour is a bit darker in real life than the photos. It is RAL 7024 - Graphite Grey. I think the strut brace and wheels have been done in Gunmetal Grey and look great- will post some pics up tomorrow.

The Godspeed brakes are good - no complaints at all. Only thing i would say is i found the black coating on the discs comes off alsmost straight away and looks a bit messy. But you can repaint them easily - need to get round do doing it myself.

Glad you found the FMIC posts useful - must say I have noticed a lot of people using my patented funny shaped brackets for mounting the top of the cooler to the slam panel :D

Thought I should post up a couple of pics of some other parts I have put on my car.

Compbrake solid top mounts - these came with my KW V3's:

42DD Solid Shifter Bushes:

Not had much driving recently (car is off the road while I have been fixing oil leak and sorting other bits out) so can't give much feedback on these parts yet.

Hoping to get the car ready for the road soon. Well I have to now as I booked the car in for a week of custom mapping at R Tech :D:D:D:D:D

Booked for 5th November - can't wait

how are the bushes? Interested if you think they make a big difference?

Bushes were easy to fit - destroy your old ones with a screwdriver knife and clip the new ones in :D

Thinking of getting mine mapped at ***** as there 10 minutes away

Be intrested on how fine the map etc

You having any of the extras? Launch control, cable throttle etc?

Can't wait for the map. Never heard anything bad about R Tech so can't wait to gt it done!
Not sure about the extras - launch control is the most tempting one :D

Update time.

Took a few more days off work last week to get the car ready for its trip to Hinckley to meet the R Tech lads.

Needed to finish off the WMI and fuel pump install, as well as putting in all the interior that had gone missing...

Over the past 2 years I had removed a piece of trim every so often for various reasons, before last week my car had no trim or carpet in the boot, no gearnob gaitor and all lower A,B and C panels were off.

Anyway, no pics of all this - as too busy actually working to take snaps.

Got the alignment done on Saturday morning and then headed off to R Tech

Had a good chat with Niki, he talked me through the mapping process, was very impressed at their approach.

Before they do any mapping they do a check of the complete set up to make sure its all good - no boost leaks etc

He commented on how good everything looked in the bay, and that he was looking forward to mapping my car - which made me feel quite :):)

Sadly it didn't last too long today. Got a call from Ben this afternoon telling me that as soon as the car went up on the dyno one of the jubilee clips for the oil cooler failed and the hose popped off and caused a mess in the engine bay and dyno :cry::cry:

The clip was overtightened (by me :()

I used the clips provided in the oil cooler kit that came off eBay (Matt Lewis Racing) and I thought it was up to the job - obviously not.

Tried to call later to see how they had got on but called to late and they had finished for the day.

I decided to skip the gym and head home to log onto Facebook and see if there were any updates (Niki normally uploads pics every so often and said he would do so for my car).

Logged on and saw this:

Oil covered bay - bad!!

And this:

46260_4909553256563_1707874328_n.jpg

And the following comment from Niki:

It's all about the flow! LCR with AGU head, CR k04 hybrid (to Bagder5 spec) relentless manifold, 550cc injectors, R32 throttle body, SEM inlet manifold, highflow fmic setup. 340bhp @23psi @21deg advance @.82 lambda @930deg egt @270gs..... This is without the WMi running :)

340bhp without WMI!!

Suddenly my mood has improved somewhat :D:D:D

He is hoping for another 7-8bhp and EGT's below 900deg with the WMI - if I get close or achieve 350bhp I think I will explode :funk::funk::funk:

Very nice! Bet you can't wait to get it back. I need to pull my finger out and find a large port head.

Seriously impressive numbers there

Awesome numbers mate, bet your well chuffed.... good stuff.

Great result. Love to hear how it drives on the road. Going to be a bit of a animal for sure

Cheers guys :D Think the large port head combined with the SEM and big FMIC piping may have made the difference..

Been telling you from day one Niki is the man .... now are you convinced?

Yes I am convinced Mo :D

Not much to report today, Niki has been doing some logging etc.

Had a problem with the WMI - turns out it was contaminated :( Borrowed it of my brother (didn't have time to source my own) who swore it was fine.

To quote Niki on facebook:

we know the WMI u had in the tank was wrong as the engine missfire pop and banged under load, workshop smelled bad from exhaust gasses and all our eyes where stinging bad.. Lol. More better now with real meth 50:50

So after coating his dyno with oil on the 1st day, I nearly blinded him on the 2nd :whistle:

Away from the mapping I have ordered myself some of these:

http://www.psituning.com/product.php/20097/polybush_polyurethane_top_mounts__pair____golf_mk4_etc___lupo_polo_6n_2

Along with some Polo strut tops, new bearings etc. The compbrake solid mounts which came with my 2nd hand V3's squeaked constantly and drove me mad so they had to go!
