Well if it's the Skoda file for that we know it doesn't unless there is a new release with SE designator in it.

I pinned a thread I thought was going somewhere but unpinned it when it wasn't:

Hinges round this

But Phonestar don't put the SE ID in it. They did once. So you can check each release. Wasn't in the last one MartiniBs post. I looked.

The missing SE:

All the files are locked down by signature encryption so you can't edit them unless you got GCHQ / NSA type of hardware or Vag accidentally publish the primary key. They would hang and quarter someone who did that.

Original for VW, but successfully used on Skoda. Completely legal origin. I wouldn't endanger anyone.

Do someone contacted Phonestar about? It seems Skoda guys from UK forum did it and got it.

But what is it thou. Radio logos ?. Since we know that isn't supported in the Phonestar files produced for VW but have been found to have the Skoda ID in them, but missing Seat. That one is across European Seat boards. On that the Seat sub brand hasn't made enough fuss to get the offline logo support implemented. I can see some dealer file could be coming put of channels but basically they want you to buy connect services. So updated logos aren't in the online upload managed Phonostar under contract and you can't upload the VW file since it's signed with Seat / Cupra ID missing so does nothing, works on Skodas thou.

MartiniB did it on the Briskoda forum which is British. He found the SK designator and posted how to do it for Skoda owners, updated that twice now, BUT doesn’t work work for Seat / Cupra. It's a metafile steering command. Vag have always used them on their units but now they are software signed so you can't tinker with them. Some guys say you can but they clearly don't understand encryption. Programmers as well.

I did suggest editting those SKs to SEs. People tried, thought it wouldn't work. It's on the thread linked above. Basically why VAG took down POI import to stop programmers interfacing with the unit through the USB. Logo import was never encrypted in mib2 but on that same token why it was taken down out of the spec. The disappearance of mibsolution.one is probably likely to be related to a contract that Vag had with a company to take down their server contract. It happened once before. Why firmware isn't being sold I guess by companies will be down to Vag wanting control of that through dealer networks.

In the meantime we have map updates offline, no issue with them. No radio logo import offline - no solution for Seat / Cupra. Mibsolution.one offline so no firmware by the back door via that site. Suspect something will turn up on that. The firmware is distributed by Vag systems so that's just a question.

If you want the Seat / Cupra radio logos via Phonostar then you have to hassle the customer support network to get VAG to commission Phonostar for the work to be done. British commercial stations are missing from the online one. Really no great surprise that a German Internet radio provider isn't on top of stations that don't broadcast in German. Vags failure in their contract with them, the quality of the logo product outside German speakers and not supporting Seat / Cupra. Good idea but not well executed.

OK, test it myself next week. It is a new version. That is why I will tried
If it's got SE in this file you stand a good chance if not it won't work:

MartiniB latest post which I'd checked so if you have anything later:

I checked that.

So, I updated my maps using the file provided, used a usb A pen with C adaptor and all went ok (Only thing that I noticed is that my home definition and my saved favourite locations were gone - Don't know if that was suppose to happen or if there's some trick to keep it - but that appart all smooth.

Thanks a lot !

Anyone is that normal. Mib2 it's retained in the units memory. But other than that good news. How long did it take.
It took around 40 minutes maybe, door open :)

I updated my other car - Tiguan 2019 - using maps provided by german website - using the sd card (Mib2 instead of Leon's Mib3) and it kept all definitions - Home/favourites.

I thought door open would do the trick. When I lived in London I couldn't keep the door open and walk away. It was a trick a retrofitter used on a service station car park when they updated the mib2 firmware and I'd been attempting to hack the map file previously. They kept the door open with a box of tricks plugged into the back of the unit, laptop on their lap, 4g aerial on the dash. On the bench but in the car. I stuck with the SWDL method since you can see the update progressing. Good experience.

Well in my case I had the change to leave the car with open door while working, private park (gate closed) so all went ok :)

No private locked car park or garage you have to do 3x15 minute locked sequences, so you have 5 minutes spare within the 20 minutes before power down. Mib2 high I normally kick it off, come in, back out 15 minutes late... 5 minutes to get the shoes on and walk out etc. :ROFLMAO: . Works for me or else leave it to the vagaries of it rolling back and finding a restore point during the update and for me using swdl in mib2 high there is no restore point so you have to start again from scratch.

Something strange happened and just noticed after driving a while.

I did a factory reset on the infotainment system and updated my maps but now the sound of the parking sensors are not coming from the sound system anymore and I noticed that the heating on AC is messed up, pressing the glass area to turn that area on/off turns the other ones on/off and the oposite too.

Did anyone had this issues on their Leon ?

Will pass on the question but if you did a factory reset before the map update that will be why the destination and home vanished.

Wonder if trusty @East Yorkshire Retrofits have words of wisdom on this one.
