Replaced the rear window wiper motor assembly - all because the rear jet was squished and not working
Worst bit was getting the plastic trim back on around the rear window.

Aww that’s a pain of a job.
Those little crocodile looking clips?
I had nightmare with mine a few years ago.
Making me sweat thinking about it. :ROFLMAO:

Those clips suck. A couple of them go in 90° from all the other ones, so if you get replacements from eBay, you might have to saw a notch in them so they slide into the slots, because of course you do...

I'm sure there's an issue with the alternator pulley the noise has been bugging me for a while even before the cambelt and aux belt recent change, it was checked as usual and it run free, but other day while engine cold i put some release fluid down the back of the pulley just to test and the sound went away so oiled it after that, i even removed tension to check the pulley it seems fine.. looked at the spec and for a Ina pulley for 25 quid not worth risk they say they last 60-80k, might take it to garage or look at the tools needed, I've got the torx but there not long enough

Isn't there a sort of one way clutch and bearings in the pulley? To allow the alternator to run on when the engine revs reduce?

I have a mk2 and I think it's the first car I've had with such a pulley
Same here , pulley kits are not bad priced got one for £15 they all looked exactly the same including the branded, was only looking for the spline nut, at least there is access unlike other cars

Got round to fitting rear brakes, no disc and pads, looks well lots of more little ish jobs but cars in garage so they will have to wait. Thanks @Thai-wronghorse for the information needed and for supplying the rear disc.

i notice your running 235 tyres is there a reason for this? what do people normal run i have 225 40s
No reason bud, my tyres needed replacing and my bro had these about, they fit great obviously a little extra grip due to the width had them on for a good few yrs now, but 225 is normal size but no harm at all with 235 either

Operation pulley
Ina pulley £24.50 same as the one removing, silly price at stealers it’s still a INA but in a vw box,
Altinantor kit £15.50 (same size spines as the door lock bolts) handy kit can be used for other jobs.
