Applied a layer of chemical guys butter wax.

Also give up trying to install a copy of v16 maps and instead reverted back to installing v8 maps.

At least since I upgraded the firmware I now get 7 digit postcode search on my rns510.

Some new tires for the front and prepping for the looming MOT time.

Need to check on the airbox as the garage that corrected the cross threaded fuel pump connector managed to break the airbox mounting on the right so the right hand side is loose but the left is attached OK.

Removed the diverter valve in anticipation that the new one arrives tomorrow. Discovered that the one fitted is the revision D plastic diaphragm type.

Not a bad job to undertake, just not much room to work in.

It held together well. What revision do you have? I ordered a rev g so interested to see if they preform any different.

Not sure how long this rev d had been on the car but I am convinced I could hear a hiss under acceleration

Did you notice any difference when you changed to the G??

I did when I changed mine. But that was going from factory original D at 7ish years old to brand new G. So might just be cause it was new.

Will be interesting to see if I notice any difference. I am convinced I can hear a hissing sound when under heavy acceleration, boost seems to come in a big dose at about 2500-3000rpm and then disappears very quickly.

The rev g diverter valve arrived this morning thanks to Awesome Gti

Well all I can say is that there is certainly a big difference from the rev d that was fitted.

The power delivery is a lot more linear and feels much less aggressive as the boost comes in smoother and stays for alot longer as opposed to coming in one big dolop and then disappearing just as quickly.

I can also now hear the engine more at high revs as the engine note was drowned out by a constant hissing sound.

I even managed to leave my £150 cycle light lodged in some suspension parts and after some very spirited driving was relieved to find it still in place when I got home

Phew. Glad it wasn't all just in my head. Glad you got your light back as well. I've started using my intake heatshield as a tool tray. The number of rattles that panic me only to find a couple of spanners I've left on it. RIP the rubber washer I left on it last week and is now somewhere in the engine bay.
