What have I done to my car today? Paid for it, collected it and brought it home.

I'm now the very happy owner of a 55 plate Black LCR.

Let the good times roll ...

Cheers.

I've picked up loads of really useful information from the site already, so looking forward to applying some of it over the coming months.

How much oil should there or shouldn't there be? Is it common to have a bit of oil in the boost pipes or around the throttle?

I actually find it cheaper to buy 17" tyres compared to my 16" lol. When I had a 330d with 225/45/17 I could get tyres for around £120 per corner and now my 205/55/16 cost £125 per corner for the same brand lol.

17s used to be 'big' but now they are the new standard size.

Was looking at my friend's cars the other weekend and he has a Volvo 1.6 Drive (eco model) and Merc C220, both on 17s (but with just 205 width tyres) even though they are both 'cooking' models.

I alway felt the Leon was over-tyred on 17s though - used to get horrible kickback and shaking of the whole steering column on rough roads.

I fitted the smaller tyres mainly to improve the ride quality on the superb road surfaces of rural Aberdeenshire:rofl:

Was this easy to do?

Yeah, very. I took the cap off, measured where it needed to be, cut the rubber with a stanley and got through the metal with a saw, then araldited the cap back on!
You have to trim the aero bit a smidge so the cap goes on, On mine I did so it looks normal any way, don't know what wiper blades you have but mine are from VW and it worked.

I've got a picture of mine, but its puddled at the bottom of the pancake pipe, which is decieving because it has puddled there but mine is a diesel so it may be different levels in the pipes indicating the turbo is healthy... If there is loads of oil then the turbo seal is on its way out, but a small lining around the pipes and a little puddle is what I've got and I'm not worried...
Never was good at geography at school, where is Cheshire? there are some LCR alloys there but I think it's a bit too far for me to go with the money he'll accept...

Just south of Liverpool/Manchester, so 1.5 to 2 hours up the M5/M6 from Gloucester (depending on speed, traffic conditions and whereabouts in Cheshire).

Nice one, only thing is I'm based literally 10 miles from lands end and not home until august 6th cause my misses is coming down here this weekend... so a nice 6 hour drive from here! no way unless he does them for like £340

When I was at Japfest 2 last weekend I saw some yellow headlight tint...

Didn't look right on my track almera... so I put it on the seat instead...

Also fitted a stubble aerial as the stock one was falling apart.

Only one pic as it started pissing it down as I was finishing...

More pics up over the weekend.

Just did mine. :) Easy peasy just like you said. Looks a bit odd shortened on one end, but at least it now sits at the bottom of the windscreen :D
