Well the discs have arrived and fitted , very happy with them the braking is excellent. I have a question for anyone who has the 330 front discs and Polly bushes; did you have any problems with the ESP? mine now comes on if i think about going around a corner?? i have to switch if off all the time now , never had a problem with it doing this before, its nothing to do with the rear discs as it was doing it before i fitted them

I think you've got the rears on the wrong side Phil, I'm sure on the ECS discs the vanes sweep the same way as the slots on the face (If they are anything like the fronts) ;)

Looking good though, they don't half help to fill the wheels :D

I fitted them the same way as the front grooves go?

Those are bills front discs yeah?

IIRC the grooves on Bill's are machined in the opposite direction to the cooling vanes inside, so they point forward. The ECS ones are machined in the same direction as the vanes :)

ECS fits them the other way on their site?

Right ok, i will have look tomorow, the one thing i think is a bit bad considering the cost is that niether of the disc sets came with any guidence or instructions as which way to fit. but by looking at the vents i should be able to work out which way they should go, which i should have do when i fitted them TBH. sorry yes they are bills 330mm discs, so i have got the fonts on the right way round?

Correct way imho
Look f'in smart!!

I thought they should go that way too  i will see tomorrow, and your dead right they do look good.:D

No worries Phil :) Its not the most obvious thing to think about checking for!

I'm not surprised you love them, despite what everyone says you DO notice the increased braking force with the rear kit installed.

I ran their 312mm 2-piece on the front with the 308mm 2-piece solid rears and they felt amazing :D

Looking good Phill.

I had the ABS kicking in before aswell after fitting a stiffer handling set up and 330mm rotors.
This has eventually went away but never git to the bottom of this??

The rotors have to be fitted with respect the the internal vanes, if their directional.
Bill's are more likely that the vanes run in the same direction as the grooves, not sure about the ECS ones.

My problems really started after i changed to GY asymetrics, i had 25/28 ARB with S3 brace and OE brakes
After poly bushing, coilovers and 2 piece brakes it did calm it, also vreds on the back have helped
It does seem ESP doesnt like a stiff setup

My badger 5 grooves go into the caliper, this gives slightly more bite, but the inner vanes are directional so need to look at these to choose rotation

Fitted my Badger 5 rotors last month and the outer grooves lean backwards, found this if its any help.
neil

ps: loving the new rear brakes, how much were they ??

They where about £600 from Awesome GTi

How old are your Badger5 discs guys? I remember Bill mentioning in his thread last year that the machined grooves had switched direction.

Like Willie and Robin have said the cooling vanes, if directional, need to be sided and sweep back from the centre of the disc.

Mine are new and from what Tim has said mine have deeper slots. I am going to look at them after work and swap as necessary.

It's all about education.
The new ones I'm looking at the internal vanes are bi directional, so its all about how's savage you want the braking whether you fit the grooves towards the pads or away.
I, of course, will be going savage :D
