Well i have started my engine rebuild, i bought a AGU block stripped it down, then took it to my engine builder who acid dipped it. I picked it up this morning and have painted it, honed the bores and fitted the LCR oil squirters. I also bought a AUM head which is being rebuilt, ported and polished complete with 1mm over size exhaust valves. the crank is being polished and balanced. I have also got hold of a R32 throttle body so the inlet mani will be ported and an adaptor will be welded on. Just need to wait for all my goodies to arrive from Issam and then i can do my transplant.

A few pics off the work so far:

I also fitted my TurboSmart E-boost Controller, i have had it for about 6 months so i decided to fit it but i am not using it until after i have put the new engine in,

i removed the ashtray and fitted it where it used to be, and relocated the fag lighter down the side of the console as i need it for my sat-nav, i am going to get a blank for it, ford do a nice little one with "12v power source" on it.

Will have to pop over and see this progressing
Would be interesting to have a good look at the block and comparing it to my supposedly stronger BAM block
Parts are now paid for so shouldnt be long:D

There is nothing different to the bam block other than the pistons are forged ,

Looking great phil

I wont go into it on phills thread but there is supposedly more strengthening webbing and bigger and better water passages through it.
There was a thread about it a few weeks ago but i wouldnt mind clarifying it

to warm the tbody in winter.. stop it freezing I think.
you may need to get some weld bead on the nose of the body to keep hoses on. tufftys blew off a few times until I weld beaded a few places around it

going to be a nice build :)

Cheers Bill,

Thanks for the heads up on the hose, is it worth plumbing the pipes in? i dont really want to warm the throttle body up, i was thinking if i could plumb it into the air con to cool it LOL, any ideas how to test it to see if its working ok? I cant wait untill its all together and in the car.

It works, i just plugged it in sat it on top of the engine and pressed the throttle and it opens and closes as per the throttle. I have a question maybe some one can answer; of late my DV has been all i can describe asmaking a fluttering noise like not like the normal single, is this chatter? and if so why has it just started to do it?

Well time for an update, things have slowed a bit as its taking a while to get the bits sent from the states, but hopefully its all sorted now as its getting frustrating. The head i bought turned out to be scrap so had to find another one, which i have (AUM) this time there is nothing wrong with it so should be no problems, but the bloke i bought it of has taken nearly two weeks to post it (He blamed his wife for not posting it) so that SHOULD be here tomorrow so i can drop that one off and the work should start on that. I have had a few more bits turn up, new sump and level sensor, new clutch and flywheel, and a bit of paint work has been done on lots of bits and pieces.

New clutch :D I will be dropping this of with my engine builder this week as its being balanced and lightened along with the crank, pulley, rods (when they get here) and pistons. He is also polishing the crank and porting, polishing and gas flowing the head, together with 3 way valve seats? (Been told it's a good thing)

Painted bits put on the block, i had to do something, even though i will be taking it all off again when the rods arrive.
