LOL Bill Is there anything you like you dont sell? This was Recommended by Backdraft this are the filter they use on all their cars. (Apparently)
Lee i wasn't saying bigger was better merely pointing out how much bigger it is than the Jetex, I will be doing logs as well, funny thing i logged the car with my LC de screened ally maf holder and then changed to a screened LCR Maf and lost 27BHP??? (With the Jetex) so now de- screened the LCR maf and put the Piper on so we will see what it does.
blue piping is a stop gap while i work on something [b)] that may have to wait now, i have found the reason for the drop in bhp well it was probably a symptom of what eventually happened, i went out this morning to log the changes and no boost, came home and found the turbo seized solid So that's that. As mentioned before i was planning on getting the turbo re-built and it would have been by now if the buyer of my s3 recaro's hadn't backed out, so that's the next thing i need to do is sell them and then get the turbo rebuilt.
Any one want a set of leather s3 recaro's?
Whats caused the seizure? Bearing collapse? Thermally related??
If its bearings i have loads of various sizes at work you could use as a stop gap just balancing issues
simply put no i dont sell stuff i dont like, dont trust, and know to not work. simples.
foam filters in my experience allow dust ingress, and having suffered engine damage historically because of this i dont touch foam filters.

I asked Pipercross to comment on how well their foam filters perform, and what they said was that in MIRA testing, their triple foam achieved a 99.06% efficiency and an OEM Motorcraft paper filter was 98.95%, they sent me the MIRA report as well as other test results. More info on the air filter thread I started.
I don't think anyone has anything to worry about running a Pipercross filter.
(worth noting alot of the tests on foam filters shown were on single or double layer foam, not triple)
So a larger turbine, keeping the same compressor wheel? I don't know why the turbo would have gone, it was built by CR Turbos and ran fine with me. Sounds like it's going to be even better now.
Is the crack in it large and unrepairable?
I can take it to work and try to weld it if you want?
