So you never asked what bolt ons the car i was talking about has then no

I was hardly gonna add headwork in the bolt ons list was I.

And freak from the factory i.e just makes more than every other engine with the same mods and can advance the timing without race fuel or meth where others in a similar spec just carnt.

Well you said you had a car that makes 380 bhp.
I asked you what the car had on, and you said ...." everything"
Now if "everything" in your book is a pipe with a filter and another pipe
with a catalyst...you are reading the wrong book...

I said the K04 can make 400 bhp, and that means stage 2+ also.
We have many Cupras that can do that here. You'll say it's the
dyno ?Well it could be, but that could also be the case with your "freak" engine (or is it freak dyno)..

One thing you fail to consider when dishing the cams and head work as "non bolt-ons" is the fact you CAN'T have a BT car without rods, and in some cases pistons too. That actually means that if you want to go BT,
you HAVE to do the same exact work as installing cams and head work, cause the only difference between the two is THE COST.The manual labor is pretty much the same, since those will have to be removed to install rods ANYWAY...So you see..."Bolt-ons" is a very general word...

And don't forget also that the above work "prepares" your car for any type of turbo without any more hassle. You wanna throw the K04 in the garbage ?
Just get a new turbo and you are done.

Finally i don't know what other people think, but for me going above 400 bhp on a FWD car and 50 kg or torque, is stressing it already....

Right i carnt be @rsed nit picking and b!tching about who said what.

I dont think you can make 420hp on a standard k04 regardless of cams, headwork or internals unless your dyno is fubard!

Forgive me for been sceptical but i dont see a car making 60hp more than mine with cams headwork and valvetrain.

Mine has Decat tbe, intake, hpfp, rs4 fuel return valve, ic, revo 2+ and no doubt more that ive forgoten

I already made 390 on a MAHA dyno without all that...

Maybe my engine is "freakier" from the factory...

As i said dynos are dynos but not all the "good" dynos are found in the U.K.

Sorry but the stuff you have on your car look like "breakfast" to me....

So you made 390 on a dyno with less than what i have :lol::lol:

Well that explains it all!!!!!! Good luck making 420hp ROFL

No i made 390 on a dyno WITHOUT the headwork and the valvetrain, and on low settings. As i said the parts you wrote are not that impressive to me.

Also, this is not a parts thread. We are not here to compare one another.Everyone does what he can, and can afford. But you know what they
say...you gotta pay to play...

Still, this is a work in progress...There is more to come.

Are you on a wind up, been drinking, drugs???

Tell us everything you have done to your engine that makes it so fooking perfect and 4,000,000,000hp and makes mine look like breakfast as you put it?

Well you can start with a double IC, since i see you already have one as you say.

Then you can increase compression to 10.5:1

Those should be enough to keep you busy for a while.

Then we talk again... :D

Never mind fly wheel figures - what are the at the wheel figure?

Being honest, I don't care too much about power and torque figures as there is too much dyno lottery involved. My old Leon showed 340bhp at the wheels which I know others have also seen, but it cleared 115mph on the 1/4 mile and I have yet to have seen another K04 MK2 Leon Cupra do this.

Also, I am sure a high figure may well be possible, but is the high figure attained at the expense of drivability or a poor plot - ie all or nothing?

Prob best to stop the tit for tat or the thread will get locked - thats why I said this thread is about to get interesting as I saw it coming ;)

Well 340 whp is really good.

That should be around 400 crank.

This is what i'm saying.

Same plot said 364bhp at the fly bud. This was before decat. Never had it checked with the decat. Fairly sure Singh123 has similar figures to this.

Was that on a MAHA dyno ?

Cause everyone knows MAHA wheel horsepower isn't accurate.
That is a known fact.

MAHA's give estimated crank HP.

Mustangs on the other hand measure wheel, which is why they
are really "stingy".

So one page before i was BS, but now i sound interesting huh ??

Funny stuff.

I wouldnt go that far.

You just seem to keep going round in circles saying how much power you have but nothing on what you have done to get that power. Which is 100% pointless to this thread.

List the parts and what you have done to help people out or a link to the build as suggested above simples.

Yup thats right Al, RR on various dynos awesome gti, performance tourqe and a dyno jet (i think thats the one were they mount the dyno to the wheel hub) made similar power you quoted above :)

It was done on a Daztek dyno, and this particular dyno is reported as being one of the most accurate around our area (I am sure they all say that) and it is used in conjunction with tuning jap cars with well past 500bhp on a daily basis.

Anyhow, the car was measure on the same dyno from stock, and stock it made a calculated 257bhp at the fly which as far as I know, is about what every other Cupra has made as standard on a dyno - my new car made 261bhp on the same dyno just the other month in 100% standard tune - 21bhp over stock, but other cars were measuring exactly what was expected of them on the same evening.

For me personally, the cost to do hybrid/big turbo is more than the gains offer, and I would argue the same for head work and other mods. At the end of the day, the Leon/Golf achilles heel is getting the power down. Sure, after 80mph you are going places, but wheelspin in 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear does no favours to power delivery, performance or drivetrain components.

This is one of the reasons I will be refraining from screwing with my new car.
