That does make sense and was bought up by someone else. I was reading some articles about the TFSI, and the design and tech brief of the targets that the engineers had to hit the other night. It appears that the Audi engineers with the TFSI deliberately design the engines to run extremely hot and extremely lean, as its how they get good MPG and emissions from the engines.
I mean compare the 2.0TFSI emissions to that of a 280hp mitsu evo 2.0T and the emissions and MPG are drastically different.
On a BT 2.0TFSI a member did comment he struggles to get his EGTs above 850 degrees c on a GT30 running 440hp. It will be interesting to see the EGTs of that car once he does the internals and uses the turbo to its full potential.
