420bhp hybrid k04

From a rolling start I would not expect to have had a problem with a 400hp evo, m6 or (standard) 996 turbo either :D But the Cupra deserves respect and seems to be very quick indeed. The instant torque and traction that I had with the S4 is offset by the lower weight and less drivetrain loss of the Cupra it seems.

Your TT RS is a very impressive beast too. Relatively light, 4wd and huge amount of torque on tap.

Thanks, bang for buck the Cupra cannot be beaten imo.

For more power on this engine, If going BT I would want to "turn the turbo around" so that the hot side is the opposite way of the air intake route. In effect making the intake piping much shorter, and not running over hot turbo/manifold and DP.

In effect one would then be able to run less boost but sustain same power levels, increase reliability and sustainable power, and allow the motor and turbo to spin at a higher rpm.

So I went out in a big turbo s3 last week, running around 440hp and I have to say it's a v quick car, I didn't notice any real lag when being driven about either. The turbo it had was a garret gt3076r iirc, and it's safe to say that it would show a k04 a pair of clean heels

I don't think the bt setup would work too well on a fwd car though

Yeah I agree, 4 wheel drive is definitely needed when running that much power and torque. Alex's car is immense!

Well that also depends on what K04 you've been in...

There are K04's now that are, or are more than 400 bhp.

And with the low torque of the K04 i can't see that huge of a difference at least up to

250 km/h

Hybrid k04? The low down k04 advantage only comes into play once, once the bt car is spooled it will stay spooled.

Can only talk of stage 2 plus k04s of course and even with the low down torque advantage of the k04 the 4wd s3 will easily reel it in.

On a different subject me and Wayne have got a b7 rs4 for a week and the best way I can describe that car is as being a bigger more powerful r32, it's really not that quick a stage 2 plus car is easily quicker ad more fun to drive. The rs4 was getting 14mpg driving normally and 7mpg whilst thrashing it lol. Sounds the nuts though.

Well no not hybrid.

Revo already makes ~400 bhp on the K04...

Just a few more tweaks...and you are there...

Only with race fuel and a Greek dyno.

Easy way to test if it's a true 400hp.

Find a revod Ttrs, if you ain't neck and neck when dragging then the ko4 isn't 400hp

Not race gas, just pump.

As for the dyno, there are dyno's all over the world.

Some measure high, some measure low.

The TTRS suggestion is a good one.I think i'll try that.

BTW if you look at the vortex there are a few K04 cars that manage mid 12 sec in the 1/4 mile, right next to BT 3071R kits....That should be saying something.

Well Blades old car is the strongest car that Revo themsleves have ever seen, just a freak from the factory and made 380hp 20hp over mine and a few others.

So where have these mysterious Revo powered 400hp cars suddenly come from then

So we are getting somewhere...

What kind of bolt on did that car have ?

You will see how "easily" you can get above 400....

Everything and the engine was a freak from the factory.

WTF do you mean you will see how "easy" it is???

Personally i think your talking BS

Personally i don't care what you "personally" think.

I asked you what was on that car, and you answers were

1)Everything and
2)Freak factory engine (that is a "never heard of" hardware term for me..sorry)

Now if you can't be more specific, how can you have an intelligent discussion ?

So let me express it in a different manner, and if you can't reply differently, just say yes or no...

Did the car have cams ?
Did the car have head work ?
Did the car have aftermarket valvetrain ?

Those are some of the stuff you should consider before saying someone
is BS.... :censored:

 So there not exactly easy mods are they. Maybe if you said that in the first place instead of beating round the bush you wouldnt have had such a response!!!

Them mods a pretty expensive for the potential hp gain. I would much rather sling a hybrid in there and a new map!

And since when is headwork "bolt on" and i wouldnt class cams or valvetrain as bolt ons either really. Intake, exhaust yes

"Now where getting somewhere"

Well GOOD tuning doesn't come cheap buddy..
I'm sorry if this is your first time hearing this.

Sticking a big turbo in a "factory" engine maybe all nice
and easy, but that is just for dyno graphs and with an
expiration date.If t were that easy cars would just be made
the same with different turbo's..

Even the hybrid you mention is bound to fail at some point,
and that will be at a much earlier point than the factory K04
will. And of course keep i mind that for the same HP a build engine
can stress the turbo even less.

I believe pretty soon there will be a 420 bhp stock K04.
And THEN if you feel like it you can get another 20-30 bhp from
a hybrid, with all the K04 characteristics.

I never said anything about "bolt on".I just said K04.
You are the one that talked about "freaks"...

P.S. I never talk BS....

Ye we have 350hp k04 cars doing mid 12's in the uk with dsg. American drag strips are better maintained than ours so not surprised to hear if manuals are doing those times too.

A true 440hp BT haldex car should be in the high 11s. My stock TTRS did a 12.8 with a passenger on my first ever go on a slippery strip, and a stock TTRS is slower than a stage 2 plus k04 fwd when rolling

So you never asked what bolt ons the car i was talking about has then no

I was hardly gonna add headwork in the bolt ons list was I.

And freak from the factory i.e just makes more than every other engine with the same mods and can advance the timing without race fuel or meth where others in a similar spec just carnt.
