Ye I do Dan, think you seen mine before on ASN.

Its a far bit smaller than this one and wanted to change it to a bigger one anyway. Even though mine was smaller than that I still had a increase in air flow, this one should be even better.

Jonny, do you have a link for the joiner and coupler. I take it the silicone pipe you used to extend the filter from the MAF housing is 80mm, is that right.;

This is interesting and will be good to see some figures.
I've just bought a dual cone Green Filter with a 45 degree alloy pipe and 80mm joiner.
I'm going to be removing my battery and having a second head light for a straighter flow for induction for the track.
The set up I'm buying is a good bit more expensive then the above but would doubt there is much flow difference.
If Jetex did a dual cone I would have gone that way as there cheaper.
The reason I want the dual cone is I'll direct this toward the front of the car and have other supplies to the sides of it from the OEM grill.

Nice one Jonnyjonjon for doing some investigation into other products, we need more people on SCN doing this.

This is what I wonder Willie, how much different would a dual-cone of a similar size be? As you say though, it's more expensive.

Green Twin-Cone:

O/D Bottom: 140mm
O/D Top: 100mm
Length: 200mm

JETEX Cone:

O/D Bottom: 175mm
O/D Top: 140mm
Length: 172mm

Green PowerFlow:

O/D Bottom: 140mm
O/D Top: 120mm
Length: 200mm

or

O/D Bottom: 190mm

Length: 300mm

I really can't tell what one would be better.

TBH I doubt there will be much difference.
It's the top one I've gone for from Bill
My car is unmapped so perhaps not the best car to test this on.
I have several logs with my BMC CDA on with various other mods.
I'll do some logs with this one and see if there is a difference.
I'm betting that fitting the extension will help things too as this will straighten the air flow before it goes through the MAF thus allowing us to remove the mesh infront of the MAF and hopefully increasing the g/s.
My car will end up mapped before next summer so will see what I end up with then too.
This Cone should do me for a long time as I won't be at crazy BHP for a long time.

The other reason I bought this was it sounded SO GOOD on my 106 GTI, but it won't sound half as good on my LCR:(

We could do with comparing a similar size cone filter and a dual cone filter to see which flows the best.

Yup, this is the sort of thing that can be done at the SCN National meet or at a local meet swapping bits and pieces between cars and logging the results.
Would be good to see what's what.

Defected!
This 'p-clip' came yesterday for me to try courtesy of john@forge.
Hopefully I'll get a permanent fixing sorted by the weekend so I can
get rid of the tie-wraps.
