did you manage to sort the fan issue out yet? if not have you checked for voltage and continuity of the wiring to the fan switch. or resistance at the fan temp sensor.

Alright mate..

We haven't test either yet...But we done some little bits today on it and took it for a actual drive...
Was truely amazing for me as i could he it spooling up and popping abit on overun and felt nice to have it all back on the road and Running...Its producing Boost which we only took it to 7psi so its all working.:

Curzon was thinking it might be my thermastate as when driving it normal it still over heated.it went past the 90degree to the next Notch which by this time we'd got home...took atleast 10mins of driving to bring it to that...(But it was already idling for 15mins before so it wasnt cold when we drove it)

So thinks do possible point to the thermsate not opening enough as its over heatin a tad when driving Normally,The Primary and secondary water pumps are defo working so thats ruled that out plus ive only had this problem ''Since i changed the Thermastate to a ECS one''.So il ring seat 2morro and buy a OEM one and if its that il send the ECS one back....

We've turned the w.o.t box off so i don't accidently Wot shift it as its un mapped....So all i have to sort out now is the Following:

*Overheating (thermastat seems the possible cause)

And

* Im leaking abit of coolant from were the Lines meet the turbo...Seems the M12 Oem Banjo bolts ive used are fine but the Banjo on the Oil Lines are too large...think there a m14 for the td05-16G

But apart from these Niggles its all Up and running and Producing power...Seems the Revo stage 2 is couping with the IHI Fueling Wise...As i was Getting 11.5 on boost (Max 7psi) so it isnt running lean...But i wont be driving it on any boost till its mapped...

That is all :D :happy::funk:

nice one mate. sounds like the thermostat is playing up but i would get a bit of single core and bridge the plug out at the fan switch just to rule it out before spending more money that isnt necessary. take the themostat out the car put it in a pot of cold water and heat it letting you see if its operating correctly. both checks only take a couple of moments:)

Do this Danny so that you know if the thermostats faulty that way you can phone Awesome if it is to try and get your money back for it.
Standard thermostats not expensive though so hopefully thats the problem cause it'll be the cheapest fix

Not sure if you should get the fan switch cause if thats not the problem then its a waste of money. If its only a case of bridging the connector like 'steven878' says then we can easily test it so you know whether to buy one or not but i think its the thermostat more than anything as the fans still spin at times

I would'nt judge fueling by 7psi afr's for the higher boost levels..
so far so good but go steady

Woo Its fixed...Was the thermostat the ECS one is dog shite....Cheap Vw one fixed it...

So now thats fixed ive gotta sort the idleing out its odd it drives fine but when i say rev it to say 3krpm then coming to a junction it will cut out but will start straight back up..

Boost leak? Can defo tell its a larger turbo as it you can hear it spool up....

while we are on the topic of ECS stuff

when the car was up on the ramp today, its leaking oil every so slightly from the ECS plug

cheap ECS magetic sump plug shite, clearly not a tight seal, which Bill mentioned to someone else a while ago, so this is getting binned and replaced with an OEM one

Mines doing the same....thats to products ive bought which have been paper weights...So gonna refit my OEM one on the next oil change..

Back to the car...

Feels Very Simular to when i was Tweeking the Turbosmart dump valve when i had it months ago, which makes me think i could have a slight boost leak somewere on the Inlet side/TB side. So Thats about it Problems wise..

Il be running 470cc Bosch injectors @ 3bar would this be adiquiet to the Power im after? Dont want to have it mapped to then find out the injectors aren't any good...Ive been reading many threads on IHIs so is the walbro Inline and my OEM 3bar fuel pump good enough?
The reason im asking as all my money is going on the engine build which will be next months packet. so would be nice to sort the niggles out and get a few 100miles on to the setup...

Im just pondering is Methanol Worth the £300 with my setup id like to see some Decent enough gains...from running a strong enought mix...

Glad the thermostat fixed it mate, just get that ECS one sent back and get your money back as its clearly faulty. The cutting out does sound like the turbosmart used to do when it wasn't set up right but when we drove it down the road the other day i noticed that when you come to stop the AFR guage is reading really lean so unless its just not got enough fuel and its cutting out. We can check for a boost leak but it could be something like that. Im off Tursday so when your home from work let me know and i'll bring the laptop down and we can have a proper look at the fueling and what Bill said again
