Given this some more thought - could be the map sensor which controls the boost being faulty? N75, Map sensor or MAF is were my money is on.
I dont think its a split hose now hehe.
My money is on MAF of MAP sensor...
how much are new map sensors??i put a new maf on aroun 1k miles ago!!
i might put a new one on just to put one on lol
I have had the odd thread moved due to posting in the wrong place, fair enough.
But this is just hilarious. How on earth did you choose this thread
Well guys - EVEN MORE problems today!
Either, an engine mount has gone; the thrust bearing on the clutch has gone, or my flywheel is shagged. I'm thinking it's a engine mount. Well, bloody hope it is as that's the cheapest option!
So how are you going to get to Birmingham on Friday then?
Might be worthing sitting on the M5 with a camcorder and film my car. You will be able to get £250 if they show your video.
Sounds like a plan lol, I could do with the money!
Seriously though, what are you gonna do? Surely it's borderline undrivable now
It's my dad going to be driving it as I'll be at work. Tbh I am so lost as what to do with the car now! Thinking do I sell it, do I just run it into the ground, or do I bother getting it sorted?
Gotta laugh about it cos I will actually cry if I dont!
Nooo, u gotta keep it! I was in the same frame of mind about my car with all the problems I had with it but I can't wait to get it back now its been sorted hang in there, you won't regret it
You definitely shouldn't give up on it, sounds like you've spent alot of your hard earned and it would be a shame/foolish to waste it.
as your signature says being sorted, wont be long now i bet your counting down the hours with the sleepless nights. looking forward to seeing your positive results when its sorted.
But now if the thrust bearing/flywheel has gone, then that's MORE money! Which I dont have to hand.
And IF the flywheel, thrust bearing has gone..... I'm gonna upgrade to the Helix clutch and get a brand new flywheel. Some people may call me stupid, but the Sachs clutch I have in now is not as strong as the Helix, and I dont want to be doing this again a year or two down the line. Just wish I knew what was making the noise!
It's like a rubber squeeky banging noise. If you pull your foot of the clutch hard, it bangs. Sometimes you can hear like a rhytmic grumble/clatter with the tickover of the engine. And when you pull off in 1st, at the right revs you can make it really sound bad.
So I cant help but think flywheel has gone. Or thrust bearing. As it went after ALOT of clutch use - was stuck in stop start traffic for 40mins this morning. Look me 40mins to do 4 miles. And it was ok to begin with, just after a lot of moving on the clutch, it started to make noises.
There's a saying that's something like
"Stuck between a rock and a hard place."
That's how I feel. Like just keep getting more and more wrong with no money to fix it!
just an idea but if it is the clutch/flywheel maybe it got hot from all the stop start use i might be wrong but does it do it from cold. as my work vans clutch gets impossible to use when it gets hot. just an idea would be a bonus if is what im suggesting.
it will be worth it in the end mate, and Will is a good chap so im sure he will sort the original problem.
p.s. dont sell it you will regret it after all the work you put in.
It'd be the cheapest option tbh!
