Before - Forge FMIC:

Photo0559.jpg

i had to put a cable tie in exactly the same place, stop the MAP sensor pipe rubbing on the crash bar. for the money Forge cahrge for this setup, you'd expect a better fit IMO

Comparison:
Photo0564.jpg

the SEAT Sport iC makes the Forge one look tiny, i wonder why Forge don't make theres as big or even as thick for that matter

it even looks a million times better just fitted ([:@]wish i'd of bought it[:@], *kicks self,[:@] kicks self*)

have you noticed any improvements performance wise?
has it helped with your heat issues?

Looking good mate :) Notice any difference i know it will be very hard to tell though. Think mine holds the torque better but i find it hard to tell small performance increases.

I cant use any of the power I have fella. It's heartbreaking. Can't tell any difference at all cos havent been able to drive it properly.

Any why they didnt designed the inlet/outlet away from the crash bar so you dont have to cut masses of it out! For being "experts" - they didnt think much when it came to this intercooler.

As heat issues go, I have none. I can't do. The car went into limp mode FOUR TIMES today. Once a 6 degrees external temp, then again at 4 degrees. Then about 10 degrees, then about 12 degrees.

How on earth there's been such SO much of a problem made by hybrid i dont know. I'm gutted. I cant use 20psi of boost. It just dies. I got overtaken (on the way back from Santa Pod) by a Peugeot 107 (3 cylinder petrol) with FOUR people in. It's an absolute p155 take. I'm FUMING. :censored:[:@]

Are you going to give Will a chance to sort it out for you mate?

Im not in the right frame of mind at the moment. I've just got back from Santa Pod - absolutely GUTTED that I couldnt run cos there were so many VXR's and Jap Crap getting 15/16 second quarter miles that I could've creamed - and I couldnt.

Limp mode 4 times....bit extreme to be honest.

That's 6 times it's gone into limp mode now. To be honest mate, I dont know if I can GET to Will for him to look at it! Im not even kidding, it's just dangerous driving it on the motorway now. It just cuts out and looses speed. Just trying to not hold traffic up is getting a task. And surely limp mode can't be good for your car as surely it's still running the same fuelling as it would for a turbo - but with no turbo running?

I dont think I can get to P-Torque to be honest. I dont want to use the car - especially on that sort of distance. If Will can get down here or arrange a delivery for my car then that'd be alright. But I doubt that would happen.

I'm just gutted. Chris took me out in his Ibiza today and it's just MENTAL. It's how a big turbo Ibiza should be. There's no comparison. Mine is and was just so...... boring compared to his! I dont want to say bad things, but it's being honest. The three people I gave a ride, were all disappointed. Chris' still makes me smile. The noise, the turbo chatter, the pigeon noises, the MANIC power, the torque, the response, it's how it should be.

I'm seriously going to have to think this over....

I know what you mean mate. But TBH I think you should give Will a chance to sort it out.

Is there nothing you can do to restrict the power just enough to stop it going into limp so you can get up to Will?

How? If I knew how I'd have done it!

I had more power on standard turbo. I've basically paid over £1000 to get my car made a lot slower and a lot less reliable.

Like I say, I have nothing with Will, he's a sound bloke. But travelling 2 hours there and two hours back is a bit of a p*ss take. I know at the end of the day it's my car, my problem. But my god it's getting costly!

Im not trying to start a sod story, cos I dont want sympathy or for people to mock or whatever. I work 8.30 to 5.30 5 days a week. I get paid UNDER £200 a week for this. I NEVER have money given to me by my parents, all the mods I've done, I've saved for with MY earnings. As you can imagine, it's taken me a long time to save for this. 8 or so weeks wages have been spent to make my car hybrid. EIGHT weeks wages. And now this. I'm doing crazy mileage recently, done over 500 miles since hybrid - 300 this week alone. Fuel bills are knocking up and my mileage too. It's due a BIG service in less than 500 miles, and I cant afford it!

Before people say, I could afford the new intercooler cos i sold the old one to pay for the new one.

Lets face it, the turbo COULD be shagged. No matter who, when or where the work is done, i want the turbo checked over aswell! It's a lot of money for me and I want this to be right. Hence why I'm now thinking, I just want it right this next time and that be it. No "try that and see how it goes" as I cant afford that. It's becoming a right headache!

And Im sick of it. :(

hey was good to see you today mate, hope ypou ght your turbo/map/sortware etc sorten and can start to enjoy the fun:)

I just want your car engine, with my mileage, with my exterior.

Allards did a spot on job with yours fella. It's SO much quicker than mine. Scum.

I've found that the boost is just fooked on mine. In the videos a few pages back, the boost jumps 2-5psi at 10psi. Well I've now found that it does it EVERYTIME at 2500rpm.

Whenever you get to 2500rpm, not matter what gear, no matter what boost, it'll jump. E.g. - 4th gear, 2500 rpm, goes from 15psi of boost, jumps up to 20psi of boost when it hits 2500rpm. WHY!?!?!?!?

I just dont get it, my car wants to kill itself. The boost has just got a mind of its own.

That must be it. Surely i'd notice a boost leak or torn pipe? It'd smoke and you'd hear it surely?

i often look on this thread. car looks good and when it all works properly will be going good. will be all working fine soon im sure hopefully its somthing simple.

I hope it is! Just can't help but think if it's something simple, then why am I having this problem in the first place?

I've been up 16 hours now.....travelled over 300 miles, I'm ratty.

really sorry to hear this mate i truely am

Have you not had ANY problems at all?

It must be a software fault - I've changed 90% of the intercooler pipework only yesterday! :(

It's as if there's a "switch" that tells the standard turbo - "Woah this is too much boost, too much heat - Limp mode time!" that hasn't been turned off!

Whatever happens, I can see it taking longer than I hoped for. :( And me being carless again!

Sounds like a really sad depressing story to me, and I'm only reading it! God knows how your feeling about it all.

TBH, I know exactly how your feeling seen as I had/am having problems with my own turbo conversion. It's taken a while to get the problem totally sorted and but car is now ready to go. The trouble with getting work done at recommended places is that sometimes they are quite a long distance away, eg JBS for myself and P-torque for you. JBS came and picked my car up which was good of them as I really couldn't drive it all that distance with oil smoke coming out the exhaust. I'd expect the same of P-torque tbh, if its that unsafe to drive then you really shouldn't drive it. Is there no warranty for the work thats been done? I would like to think so, its a big money job and needs to be done right or you'll get no end of problems further down the line. If its gonna be sorted under warranty then you shouldn't have to pay for it to be sent back, or have to drive it back yourself. Just my opinion I know, but JBS sorted out transport for my car and thats further than p-torque

When my car went into limp mode with my original turbo I nearly got rear ended cos I pulled out into the 2nd lane of a dual carriageway and there was just NO power at all. I didn't even know it had gone into limp mode until it was too late so I had to put my foot down as much as poss with my 1.8 non-turbo lol. It can be dangerous if your not expecting loss of boost.

Once it sorted out though, i'm sure you'll be over the moon with it :D With my car, it's had a 2nd hybrid turbo because the compressor wheel was touching the housing on the 1st one, and now its holding more boost for longer :D:D:D I just can't wait to get it back. Hopefully it'll be as reliable as it was with just a stg1 map :)

Keep us updated with what goes on, when it all comes good you'll be laughing :)

sorry to say it the only problem i had was a lack of power which i thought was a boost leak and it was
but nothing like this mate
