Sorry Ash, was a typo.

I ment to say has Will got the car as you said its in the garage.

But the penny has just dropped at what you ment. Ibiza is in 'your' garage now the mini has gone. Right?

Right. :)

any news on your problems mate???

Nope. Not had chance to plug vagcom in yet and that's the next step.

Havent had problems again, will see what happens when I go to Santa Pod this weekend.

I havent had a decent run out of it. :( I've only been doing the 4 miles to work and back. Only just gets engine temp up as I'm practically at work or home so havent been able to give it a blast really. I'd imagine it will still play up. I dunno. It drives alright. I'll get it checked over a week today, if not before. I dont know of anyone with access to vagcom near here.

Turbo dynamics have been in touch with me.

They're replied with:

"Hi Ashley,
We would like to start with the most important issue, the turbocharger is not designed to run 30 psi let alone 35 psi, the turbocharger will fail at these levels, the mapper should be addressing this as soon as possible. We would expect that the torque and horsepower would actually go up with less boost, in our experience as boost levels above 1.8 - 1.9 bar actually achieve the best figures. Anything above this creates far to much heat particularly with the standard intercooler, hence the performance drops."

As you can see, if my boost gauge is accurate - I'm getting 30psi and over of boost. So either my boost gauge is wrong, or I'm packing too much punch which may actually be a power loss rather than a gain and explain why it's gone into limp mode a few times....

And as you can see by this video:

I'm running quite extreme cases of "overboost."

karl he is running more BHP than you but less torque. Turning boost down doesnt mean you get less power!!!

Its getting the right amount of air (boost) and fuel so when both are compressed it ignites. You give too much air it doesnt exploded as much and visa versa.

I have already told Ashley this boost is not correct... something is causing this boost spike, either faulty gauge or hardware. Our software on all these hybrids is set at 1.9 bar.

Ashley... please stop posting the same thing everywhere as I keep having to type the same reply :cartman:

At least you know what the problems most likely to be now mate. What the next move then, back to p-torque for another map?

Yes fella. Will is a genuine enough guy. I mean, he's actually trying to sort it and is getting in touch with me. Some garages just ignore the fact that you exist once they've got the money off you.

I'm not sure if it's anything to do with Will's mapping or not, could be something wrong with a sensor or summat to do with my car. We'll have to see.

Turn my boost down and apparently I could see a tad more power as it'd not be getting as hot and actually using the energy for power, not to produce heat. If that makes sense?

Tbh it's a pretty smokeless map. It must be running fairly sweet now! Just the boost is nuts.
