Benn a while since I posted in here, cos i was on holiday. In sunny Scotland lol. Lots of rain but nice scenery and loads nice SEATs. Didn't spot any SCN stickers on them though.

Anyway ordered an XCarLink for the iPod and am now thinking about changing the front speakers. Just want coaxials that give better sound but still powered from the normal head unit. Not really interested in amps or anything. Got the adaptors for the doors and I'm going to Halfords to have a look.

I know it's not the best place to go, but everywhere on the internet charges extortionate delivery to NI so Halfords doesn't work out that expensive in comparison.

So what should I look out for speaker wise, realli I'm just looking for something that gives clearer sound with a wee tiny bit more bass than the standard speakers. I assume anything would be an improvement?

Sorry for the long post lol.

or if your looking to buy much better and have more money, then these look very good and their specs are great for the price.

one thing i would advie is to amp the speakers while you are at it. yes it takes a little longer but the overall effect is great.

i cant get my sound system to anywhere near 25 without my ears hurting because its so loud. but at the same time everything is clear also

I'm looking into buying a 16v head for mine.....spend the money on that and then tell me if it works!
Its annoying though, I looked everywhere but theres no block-head compatibility list on the internet...

if you can buy a 1.4 16v sport head, you will have a peice of rocking horse sh*t. they are rare as hen's teeth.

1.4 16v is 100bhp engine. it has a bigger exhaust etc than the standard 1.4 (think it shares the 1.6 8v exhaust)

i have seen a few 1.4 16v's on ebay but they have been as much as a cupra iirc

do you have the part number for the strut brace as i would rather pay £45 than £55 like me local stealer is asking

also sorry but your air induction kit font be 'forced air induction'.. forced inductiong is stuff like turbos and superchargers.

RAM air induction kits 'apparently force more air in to your throttle body' (these have been tested and they dont 'force' air in to your intake untill your going around 100 mph.

Nice kit though :p

The sound of just a bit of heavy acceleration is nice going up through the rev range, as if your not flooring it you just get an air sucking sound.

Another question, this time about wheels.

I'm thinking of getting these alloyshttp://www.madmotors.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_2806_2808&products_id=21700
Mainly cos OZ Super T's are out of my price range.

I emailled them to see if they'd fit my Ibiza and they replied with this

"If you have a 4 stud model, the wheels are available but may need arch modifications. This is because the wheel is a 16x7.5 and the offset for the wheel is 35et."

Now I understand what the et bit is and know that will fit ok, but will need spacers for it to look decent.

But whats with the 7.5 bit, and will it fit my ibiza?

And finally what do you guys actually think of those alloys, the seem to be dead on for the price. And i reckon they'd look good on a Ibiza.

Right so thats a no no then lol.

Might just have to break the bank and go for the OZ's

Also like the look of Speedline Turini's but they very hard to come by, expensive as well.

Damn me and my expensive taste!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help Adam

Lol i searched through the foums I've found numbers ranging from 35-40 lol.

So i guess 38 being in the middle would be about right!

But then I suppose is all depends on the size of the wheel and if you have spacers or not.

Confusing lol

Super Ts are only about £500 new aint they? i paid £200 in white 2nd hand for my old car but they were more or less brand new. Why not look for the orginal Ibiza CupraR wheels... sure theyr Oz's aint they?

Im either getting ultraleaggars soon and theyr £600 or borbet As and theyr £1000 lol but i want them 2nd hand! Mmmm 8.5s on the back down and out!

as for 7.5 on a non dish wheel, theres no point you may as well go for a 6 tbh.

Well the chepest I can find new 16" Super T's for on the net is £615 with tyres which isn't too bad really, but i was hoping to only spend about £550 or less on a set of wheels and tyres.

But I guess you get what you pay for.

well a NEW OZ super T from seat is... well is impossible now. they sold out 'apparently' and i got the last 2 sets, one for a mate of mine and i had to sell my set  i did get £450 for them though so i only lost £150 :(

also cupra wheels are 6" wide... cupra R wheels are 6.5" wide... i know you can run 7's but you either need a dish or modded arches...

to be honest 6" wheels with good tyres will easily out handle 7.5" wheels with crap rubber on them. buy a nice style and get decent tyres!

also another thing which is useful, make sure your wheels are weight less than standards.
1KG of unsprung weight (wheels etc) = around 4KG of sprung weight..

so inother words if your wheels are nice and light you will lose effectivly 4kg off each wheel if they are 1kg lighter. so thats 16kg overall. if each wheel was 1kg lighter.
and it makes your handling better too!

Yeh not keen on any wheels I've seen in Halfords, and they only seem cheap cos they dont sell decent wheels.

Lol some nice wheels in those links Adam, but at those prices I think I'd kill myself if I ever kerbed them!!!

Hmmm dunno what to do.

Have my heart set of Super T's so will probably end up going for them. Would be happy with a second hand set but its damn hard to find them in NI and anyone selling them on here doesnt want to be bothered with the hassel of sending them to NI which i can understand, but at the end of the day all they need to do is find some boxes as it would be me paying for the delivery lol.

I'm sure I'll get something sorted eventually lol.
