Would you recommend the MK4?

Don’t know if loads, but it’s probably been in the garage about 6 time in 20 months. Majority probably software, but head unit I suspect about to go for the second time as it’s had days calling breakdown itself, plus interior lights randomly turning themselves on.Just lose faith of keeping beyond the warranty. Do have parking sensor issue atm as well, although it could be classed as stone damage, just hoping it goes away once temperatures warm up.

I had the same a few days ago, like someone was hammering the breakdown call button, turned out to be condensation forming on a very cold day - wiped it off and it's been good since.

Had my Cupra Leon for 14 months and had no major issues with it. Yes, the infotainment is a bit cack and has a little meltdown every now and again (Sat nav still won't talk to me!) but the car itself has only had one episode of lighting up like a christmas tree but again that was down to dodgy software.
It's a lunatic to drive in cupra mode but is more than comfortable in comfort mode. I have the hybrid and it is a bit gimmicky - is no more fuel efficient than the 1.5 petrol octavia it replaced and is very heavy on tyres (don't pay for them thankfully) but as a daily driver on various roads I would recommend it but I would also recommend that you test drive it and try to fiddle with the infotainment while driving to see if it's right for you. I'm already eyeing up another one to replace this in November next year so I'm either daft or the car is a good one!

Yeah, just i had this previously and the whole unit was replaced, although it's not quite at the same stage yet. The interior light buttons didn't work at times then, when they did work it coincided more with contact breakdown calling, probably for a good 10 minutes of initial drive.

The lights coming on by themselves probably happened first time in September, so before the cold. It's why i suspect unit heading the same way. I have seen in the past someone mentioning in the past the breadown calling down to a solder joint that just needed resoldering.

On good news, my front parking sensor fault disapeared on today's journey into work, for now at least...
