Will more than likely get it mapped on v power.
But also get a secondy map for the BP 103. It's more available in Europe but is found at some BP near race tracks
Have you ever tried using Unleaded Fuel Accelerator to change the octane rating and if so are they any good.

I used to use it in the saxo race car, main used silkolene pro-boost. that had stupidly high compression. The higher the octain level the higher your compression needs to be. When all sorted I will figure out the cr and try adding a bit of obtain booster to the v power
I have even run a very low ratio of 2 stroke fully synthetic oil in the fuel befor to aid lubrication. This was because the engine used to rev to 8.5k, and in my thoughts any little helps.
A small ratio cos if it don't burn off it can then build up on the piston crown and cause hot spots that can melt threw the piston and then that's bye bye engine lol.

did the timing belt and waterpump yesterday with a gates kit upon starting it up and letting it get upto temp i noticed a drumming sound coming from the timing cover area so stopped the engine and left it until today. ive taken off the crank pulley and timing covers and ran the engine and seems to be coming from either the waterpump or hydraulic tensioner :( so ive ordered a febi kit to come tomorrow and ill do the job again and send this gates kit back as faulty. nightmare.

today i also fitted a boost gauge and installed the stalk for cruise control from the kufatec kit, will need to wire all that up after ive done this timing belt job 20240830_114732.jpg 20240831_143704.jpg 20240831_143708.jpg 20240831_143727.jpg 20240831_154521.jpg

I'd forgotten how much I hate rear brake lines. Not quite exhaust level hatred, but definitely not my favourite thing to work on
Yeah 💯 with you on that when we did mine with extended lines absolute nightmare just no room to get tools there to do job properly fronts we're a breeze in comparison, nice fitment on tyres I'd say we have the same nice flush like to the arch, font like when ppl have them pokein out.

Well only having replaced the fuels lines to the fuel rail about a yearish ago had to do it again, when I started the motor other day I thought that's running really rich then saw rainbow effect in the water on ground grrrr, so replaced them and the difference in quality from fuel lines off ebay to to the car shop was massive ebay looked very cheap and poor against new 1s, so just maybe my dad's acceleration foot was not as heavy as 1st thought 😀.

Can still blame him for the excessive fuel consumption

I need a massive favour. I am not bale to get to the workshop to play cars but I need to order some thing..
Is some one able to measure the length of the front and rear door seals.
I am going to order some new ones . But slightly different .

Am going for some thing like this. So it seals the door but I don't need the flap but that goes over the plastic trims
Also I need the rough size of the rounded bit so I can get the right size
Screenshot_20240901_191056_eBay.jpg
just so I can compare to the sizes here.
It would be amazing if some one could. As I not spent any thing on the car today.... I have bought grass seed and grass fertiliser... but nothing for the money pit. Hahhaa

I took the aux belt off and ran the engine to rule all the pulleys out and its deffo coming from the waterpump by the looks of it, theres a slight wobble to it when the engines running, rain has stopped play though so will need to get it all changed tomorrow.
