unlikely... unless your foolish. i was so ****ing worried first time i used a DA/ rotary thinking i was going to naff my car up. sit on it for 15 minutes, then maybe but the friction and heat to generate something that will mess it up isnt easy to achieve.
confidence is the key.
and seeing as you can pick them up sooo cheap. can get a decent rotary for 50-100 quid new and a DA for the same price. its worth thinking about, even if its used once a year.
considering to get struts to replace the $hitty metal arm holding the bonnet...
It was a bit windy, and apparently blew away the arm or down even
Bonnet fell and crushing the arm onto the wing (not much damage done a minor chip but meh!)
Went back to the garage to change socket heads when this happened grr

It's something I'd like to have a go at so I'll need to do a bit of research on the best one for beginners.
Maybe an idiot-proof one will be the best option for me...lol.

is an ideal starting point imo! i also love menzerna polish too but there is plenty out there to look into.
once you have done the paintwork to a good standard once, keeping on top of it is easy. its just the first initial "detail" as some will say.
when i first got the leon i polished by hand, DA and rotary on different parts of the car to compare the difference. i was more than happy with the results from light cut pads, im sure others would be too.
but cant beat a machine.
They are painted with a few coats of lacquer wanted them glossy...had them powder coated black before but never looked bright and looked like matt sometimes...but happy with the finish now.
My powder coated ones are really glossy mate even when there dirty they still shine.
Only picked one stone chip up on a rear wheel so very happy with them.
What are black powdercoated wheels like to live with? Got to be better than standard silver surely? I've had anthracite before and they weren't bad. Wheels need a refurb badly and I'm tempted to go right dark just for a change. Not because it hides the dirt.....

I find them much easier to keep than when they were factory silver as the finish is so much better.
I used to find that my silver ones got a yellow tinge at the base of the spokes and required constant polishing to keep looking good.
They probably show the dirt more but I find them much easier to clean and maintain.
I had anthracite wheels on my FR and find my black wheels easier to keep than them.
I find factory wheels have a terrible finish and quite grainey like there's not enough lacquer on them so the dirt bites in.
If you get them refurbed properly the finish should be smooth as silk.

Currently getting my callipers painted yellow (with a yellow leon). I'm a lazy ******* though so got a mate to do it.

Yesterday me and my Mk2 laid eyes on a gloss black Ibiza FR diesel (Mk4) with gloss black rims that wasn't half shifting...
When we got up behind it I noticed it had a REVO decal on the bottom left of the boot lid. No wonder it was shifting like sh1t off a shovel, eh?!
EDIT: not because it had a sticker on the boot

Just had my car valeted, only to notice the smallest yet so obvious dint in my door, curse the carparks im going via buses from now on!
Paying him £50 for all 4, so imo thats a good days work. He has axle stands and other stuff which makes his job easier though. Plus he is taking the callipers off (but not from the break line) so he can get around and clean them easily.
But yeah, it is a lot of work... they need a proper clean before you can even start to paint them D:
