At the moment mate my dv and check every pipe for a leak as that's what brings that code on is a leak somewere but I have checked all mine and had a smoke test done and nothing at all so all I can try now is the dv but u have already tried that haven't u? Have u had yours checked for a leak anyway of not worth a try.

mc funbot, slightly off topic, would that cheap code reader you refer to on e.bay work on a BMW Mini, and switch off airbag light, or do you know of one that would, my Mrs has one that has a random fault that puts the light on , could stay off for months, then ping its back on, could you put up a link.

Still have my N249 mechanical fault VCDS code, have checked and checked bypass done as per thread, both plugs are connected, and not corroded. only thing that's noticeably changed running wise is best mpg now 28, could it be linked to what the hells going on with the car not running properly with a standard recirc DV fitted, and the atmospheric one on the car removed

Cheers Chris

Ebay code readers are pretty good I still use my ebay on its all vw an a few other makes just search mini/bmw code readers. The one I have you can scan all sorts an turn of lights.my bro got one for his st focus was about £20.

As for mpg im not sure. Is can take a while for your car to adjust after changing stuff an they can correct thing them selfs. The bypass only really removed the vac tank an crap really so you have a direct feed of air when on the throttle.only other thing is a leak pipe under the Inlet to the crank is one thats over looked as they always split. For the sake of a few quid maybe worth slapping a fuel filter on takes 20mins.

Done this on the weekend! The only difference on the AUQ is there is a braided pipe needs to be blocked that runs down passed the CTS. Thanks for the guide!

No EML light or anything untoward at the moment, will get my VAGCOM on it to be safe when I can find the laptop charger but all is looking good!

Those one time clips....what an absolute b*stard of job to get them off!
