Just had a quick chat to the guys and the cars looking good apparently. No news on how good just that they have pretty much mapped it and tweaking it right now to get it spot on. Didn't need the 4bar fuel pressure regulator either according to the guy on the phone so that has saved me some money :)

Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow and go for a nice run. Drive to work is going to take ages

Good news mate!

Yeah you don't need a 4 bar fpr for these with their stage 2 map. I've never had one.

Car is still at AMD's, have a savage boost leak. 0.6 bar pressure and all they hear is hssssssssssssss! Its from the intercooler piping, I know which one it is, had problems with it before and now its biting me in the ass it seems. The guys are sorting it and will give them a shout later to see how its going

Bummer but it's in the right hands :). What FMIC do you have again? I'm hoping the beaded pipes on my Forge don't let me down. I've ordered a 4bar FPR too but looks like I could get away with it then.

Keep chucking up the updates and hopefully see you on Saturday!

Its a universal one with beaded hard pipes but its the one which connects the plastic map pipe to the hose which then connects to the inlet. Have had no problems with the other pipes because they are beaded so happy about those just this bugger one decided to let go. Yeah its in the right hands for sure, its just fitting it in as they have a another busy day. Every time I go there I swear the ramps are full and cars waiting outside.

Yeah apparently the 4 bar fpr isn't needed even though it was AMD who told me I needed it. I'll leave it to them whether I need it or not to be honest. Just want the car back now, it's perfect driving weather out there. Bet it will rain like mad when I get it back :ban:

Got a great call just now. Car will be ready for pick up tomorrow. Major boost leak sorted, car is now mapped..........well nearly, they are trying to push it for more power at the moment. Ben did comment about it being a hot day so should really see a bit more on a cooler day. To be honest I don't care about numbers right now, I'm just hungry for some driving :D

Glad the leak is sorted mate, it'll be a rocket when you get her back make no mistake about it!

No need for 4 bar FPR with this map :)

Mine was mapped back in Jan.

Enjoy it! And as Jay says, hopefully see you Saturday if a few of us can turn out :)

Cheers mate. January a much better time to get these mapped, nice cold air. I'm sure they have had mine running pretty much all day with the issues first then the overall mapping. Just can't wait to drive it, taken me ages to get to this stage and now want to start enjoying.

Yeah hopefully will be done, be good to catch up and maybe some pics!!

Yeah for sure, all you want is to enjoy the thing! That's why I'm happy with mine now, because the codes have gone and she's just doing what I bought her for - moving quickly and putting a smile on my face! She also sounds like a beast now as I'm sure yours does!! :)

Really want to see your car mate. It'll be alot different to the last time I saw it at the RR day.

Stage 2 Mapped

Right time for an update. Got the car back this morning, headed up to AMD’s and had a good chat with the guys about the car and its performance. It didn’t start off well with the mapping due to a stupid intercooler hose pipe but the guys sorted it out for me asap and I doubt I will be having problems again. Jumping to the numbers the car managed 271 hp and 284 lb/ft at 1.5bar. Had a major drawback with the temperature yesterday as Ben told me it was extremely hot in there at 50 degrees so I should see another 10-15 bhp on a cooler day according to them - bring on the next rolling road day :funk:

My Forge UNOS MBC is also limiting me to getting more bhp however doing a much better job at holding the power through the rev range. Looking at other graphs with the same map and comparing to mine I can see that people are seeing a higher spike at low revs but tailing off quicker whereas mine is holding boost longer and more consistent which is better suited for my driving style. I’m shocked to see how smooth my graph is also, it’s exactly what I was after so very pleased. Kenny commented that the car feels great on the road thanks to the way the boost comes in and holds consistently from 3-5k rpm. I will try to scan the graph and get it uploaded so you can see what I am rambling on about ;)

Hoping to go for a good blast later to see how it feels. I was unable to test the car properly when leaving AMD’s as I was being followed home by someone who didn’t know the whole route back. Also want to do some logs of the car over the weekend to see how it is doing with regards to airflow etc.

All in all I am very happy and finally it’s time to enjoy the car. It’s taken a while to get to this stage and finally map it as I decided going against the norm of stage 1 and then 2 and jumped straight ahead. Loads more to do to the car that’s for sure……………never ending story continues!!

hi el great result dude, i bet your so happy :D
i also run Forge UNOS MBC but mine is set to 1.4 bar, mine is the same as yours and holds boost all the way up the revs without dropping, its a great feeling :D
befor the mbc i was spiking at 2 bar, now its clipped to 1.4 the car feels so much more consistant and i have to say faster, also i now get better airflow due to boost holding in the high revs with out dropping. so im sure mine and your car must pretty much feel the same, and if it does then i know your one happy bunny :D

Congrats mate, as long as you are happy then that's what matters and dyno figures are hit and miss. Do you have a 3" TIP? Get some airflow logs up this weekend, that'll give a clear estimate in the real world.

Cheers mate. I do have the 3" TIP mate. I know the numbers aren't as high as others buts it's more down to a few factors and I like how it holds the boost. Will definietly be logging over the weekend to do some analysis. I know I don't have a full 3" downpipe which will be affecting it slightly also. When the guys did it for me they had to use what was there as I couldn't get stuck so might look into getting a bigger one done ;)

Thanks mate appreciate it, yeah looks like we have gone down a similar route with the cars and yes it feels fantastic. I fully understand you now with the car, feels spot on when driving around. Going to be checking the mbc after running some logs as it can always be turned up lol

Great results dude, on the road you'll find it give a fair few more BHP. When i had mine on the rollers the other week it was run twice in quick succession and it loss 10BHP in 2 mins due to heat soak. This gives you an indication of how much of an effect heat soak can have.

DK's arranged a RR day in october, should be a little cooler by then, plus it'll be fully adapted as well, should see a nice jump in figures.

Thanks mate, yeah I hear you on the heat affecting it all. Mine was run several times because of the issues they found first of all so will be interesting to see how it does another time. I saw the rolling road day on D.K's facebook, looking forward to that indeed!!
