Good you got decent pad wear I had one side more less new with the inside pad down to the metal backing plate... Not ideal

Well done El, good effort. Must feel good to get it out the way, save loads doing it your self too. Now the boring stuff is out the way, get back to modding

Cheers mate. I like doing as much as possible on the car, get to learn a lot this way too. My mates know their cars inside out so I don't fear anything going pear shape when doing it with them.

All the modding bits I want to do are probably going to wait until the crap weather comes and goes as its mainly exterior. You never know though, might get bored waiting that long

My previous pads were like that so lets see what happens with the new ones.

Thanks mate. Engine bays pretty much done to how I want it with just that ugly orange dip stick which is ruining things

Dip stick is easy to sort, spray it black or if you want a little bling spray the stem black and get a new head for it.

Iv got one coming from us and mike R already has one, it's in his RR

Yeah think that's what I am going to do to be honest. May even just spray it all black. Need to be careful it doesn't become too bling bling under there

Cheers mate. Car feels good. Think it's fixed another issue when sorting the cv boot. I had a noise which would happen mostly when turning, sounded like something was badly rubbing. At first I thought it was the breaks rubbing the heat shields but now we have done the cv boot it has gone so it may have been that instead

You do much driving with the DS2500's back on? Happier than with the Mintex then? You said they were noisy and dustier than the DS' - you know I'm close to doing my brakes so want to be 100% buying the right one's

Car insurance paid for another year. Best quote I managed to get was for £799, still better than last year but not by much. Can't wait to move from my current area, not moving just for this reason but is one of the factors I must admit. Being in a Risk factor F isn't the best of feelings.

On a plus note, the Ferodo pads are bedding in nicely. Not driving as much these days as they would had been fully bedded in by now. First impressions are good although too early to say for heavy breaking as I am driving extra careful not to press on them too hard for now until fully bedded in. Have to admit though, they definitely heat up a lot quicker than the Mintex 1144's I had on before. Those buggers took ages to heat up and work properly. Also there are no noises whatsoever.............thankfully. The noise on light breaking before was really doing my head in. Obviously it's gone because we cleaned the brembo's properly when changing the pads so will see how much dust the Ferodo's produce to give judgement on which is better on that front

Generally looking around at different wheel options. I really like the standard wheels but I can't just help feel that the car isn't special enough looks wise so want to differentiate it somehow. Refurbing the wheels to a different finish would do the trick a little bit but then all the good colours are pretty much done so again in the same boat. Early days, you know what I'm like with switching my mind constantly.......(well apart from my next car choice lol)

Yea alot of the choices out there have been done to death mate. Hard to be different now. Keep them a nice silver and save on a new set by not getting them and putting the cash towards the GT-R

Just ordered a set of white LED sidelights from HIDS4U.co.uk - 501 Can-bus 2 LED bulbs. When I purchased my 8k HID kit I also got a set of blue bulbs to try and match them however to me they still look yellow and have never been happy with them. Hopefully these led sidelights will look better against the main beams

Also waiting on a few other bits so that I can finally remove the PCV system. Should had done it ages ago when I first fitted the oil catch can but put it off as I was unclear on how to do it. Time has now come to crack on with it thanks to some reading on how to do it and plenty of questions getting fired at Richard (RDS)................thanks for putting up with me mate
