Thanks for the kind words though :D means alot mate. I see so many nice other LCR's on here so it's nice to get these sort of comments! I must return one back though and say how much your car has come along in a short space of time. Just looking at the spec list is pretty impressive! She's a minter alright! It's always nice to look back at the car standard etc when you bought it and then look at pics/current spec of how it is now. You then realise just what you've put in and spent but when you put that right foot down you know it's all worth it!

Thanks for that mate:redface:, I love to look at the now and then pics and spec of my motor:D. I feel as though alot of the time I'm just trying to keep up with the likes of yours and D.Ks, they just seem to be spotless constantly.
Mine will be hopefully at its shiney best for Sunday, spacers and all;)

Yes I agree it's all about motivation for life in general, like when I'm feeling lazy I spend most of my weekend at the pub but when I'm feeling a bit more pro active I'll do some car/camper stuff too!

The service is expensive because the belts are being done too 72k mile one. It's a 6 hour job to do the cambelt on this car lol. Crazy price really but I'm determined to make something of this one. Ordered a new HU today and plenty more on the list for the next year. The pic in my sig is right after I machine polished it, and I love it  lol

This is my car - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BzmCcoWIz8 video was recorded the day I fitted it, the exhaust is sooted up now and louder but you get the idea

Have you gone off the idea of an S3/R32 for now then?

Exactly matey..

Ah I see, well once that work is done it's done!! Sounds like you're going to town on it mate I knew you would haha!!

That exhaust sounds so nice mate. Defo tasty that!! Bit jealous tbh, haha...

Yeah no S3 or R32 anytime soon mate. Both brilliant cars but not really a massive move from the LCR. The R32 with it's noise and lower price vs S3 appeals to me more. But tbh when my car runs well, it's quicker than the R32 and the S3 would need to be Stage 2+ to show me up. S3's just cost too much to justify the move at the moment. Double the price and no real gain bar leather interior, sat nav all the toys really and BOSE sound system.

Pointless at this time really. My LCR is quite far down the line now so might aswell finish it off!

It's the simple things we do which revives the love factor in the cars again. They can be a right pain in the back side at times but then you do something and remember why you go through it all!! Stick at it mate, that's my plan also. Can't see myself selling for a while like yourself so it's worth getting whatever you want done as you know you will be keeping it so doesn't feel like so much of a waste of money/time etc.

Your right in the sense that your doing all the bits which won't need going over in the future and makes the car more solid for the future. That's what I am doing, trying to find any areas which I feel I might as well get done now before it goes t1ts up really.

Thanks for the comment mate, first the first time I think the stance is spot on now so I am happy along with the rest of the car at the moment, although I keep getting some crazy ideas to do to it but then keep thinking house first El house first.............:censored: lol

You speak the truth El! Very well put mate!!
So right about future proofing the car. Like complete bush kit and anything else AmD can find underneath which is showing signs of 'going' - I will get replaced so it's like new, BUT stronger than OEM.. Got to be done really!

Haha, mate sack the house off for another year and get the car to where you want it.. lol.

Don't be stupid, keep the car and get it finished!

The difference between mine and yours is that I had done all I wanted to do to it so I felt that I could come to the end of the road with it if I wanted. I could have kept it and enjoyed it the way it was but work commitments made that difficult so it was the right thing to do to sell it on to someone who would persevere with 'the project' however, if I had 'X' planned for it then she'd still be with me until I could finish. My employer is also starting to sent me out to client meetings more often, some not always accessible by train so a car is needed and a loud hot hatch wasn't the image they wanted. I miss my car like crazy, I've pined for it for the last two days since it has been gone and if there was any way I could have feasibly hung onto her then I would have. A part of me is always going to regret selling her but this was a head over heart matter but that's just where my life has gone. Based on your situation though, you should hang onto her and enjoy it for as long as possible/while you can :), I'm sad that I can't.

Everyone needs a Stage 2 LCR in their life :D.

I'll still be coming to the AMD Day though but I'll be running something non-VAG.

Again, another valid post by a regular!
It was just 'that time' for you mate. Such a shame but it seems like the right owner has picked her up by the looks of things and with him on here, he can get in touch with you and anyone for advice on how to get the best from it.

When I sold my 1st LCR a few years back, I was so down for about 2 weeks! I just had to get another one and go stage 2! So I feel like I've done my LCR plan well when I look at it. I've just still got a long way to go yet..

Be good to see you down AmD at the RR day mate. Will you be putting the BMW on the rollers?! I very much doubt mine will go on the rollers. Clutch has a tiny tiny bit of slip in it but I'm prolonging it for as long as I can till I can get the whole shabang replaced.

could you send me the link for intercooler mate

Link is here mate:

Decent kit. But I'm getting a Forge next year when the season starts again.

Cant believe id not actually commented on this thread yet, just had a read thru soon as i seen stage 2 as im going same way only need a exhaust and im ready.

Iv got a full poly bush kit on my car except for the dog bone mount i think, not actually looked.

Cars looking very minted in the last few pics

Cheers for the comment mate!

Stage 2 is awesome, you won't believe the kick back in the seat you will get. I still think back to my 1st drive home from AmD when I had the milltek turbo back and the stage 2 code put on, from an OEM map... it was a bit :drive1: Torque steer in 4th if you want it to! Very very quick car now. You'll love it.

I can't wait to get the whole of my car superpro bush'd underneath. Should feel much better! Was told the bushes were pretty shot about a year ago, lol. So it's about time!!

Thanks for that mate:redface:, I love to look at the now and then pics and spec of my motor:D. I feel as though alot of the time I'm just trying to keep up with the likes of yours and D.Ks, they just seem to be spotless constantly.

The spec and pics you should be proud of mate, it's come a long way like most of us have on here! Takes alot of hours, dedication, rows with missus and MONEY! [:@] - But when you're on boost it's all worth it!!

Haha, mine was far from spotless until yesterday. DK's on the other hand, well I don't think I've even seen it dusty. It has to be one of the best LCR's this forums had without giving him a big'head! Lol.

Get some pics up when the spacers go on bud. I'm sure it's going to look mean!!

Hi mate how you doing? Cheers for the kind words :) she is looking pretty tidy after her Sunday clean up! Yeah the front plate is 3/4 size I don't like the full size ones lol.

Do you go to my gym then? Virgin active Bromley. I'll be going again tonight. You've got a Plat grey LCR too haven't you?

Ah i thought so. Im good thanks, losing a bit of interest in mine, had a new battery at the weekend, that's the only thing that's happened with it since ive had it really. Yeah same colour, i wanted to try and park near you but couldn't, how geeky is that.

Yup, that's my gym, not been for a few weeks but i have to get back in shape so im going a lot more now like i used to. I've never seen your car there, i have seen a blue Cupra though.

Mate if you give her a real good clean you'll get the love back for the car! I did on Sunday it was well overdue. Which battery did you go for? Nothing geeky about that I often do the same lol. Will keep a lookout for you mate.

I've only been back at virgin just over a week so that's probably why you've not seen me down there much. I'll be there quite a bit now though I'm getting back into it.

yeah she needs it, i gave the rear end a good clean, in the boot gully, if that's what its called, there was a massive build up of grime and dirt and what not, but didn't do the rest of the car.

I went to start her up on Saturday and it just clicked, but radio and windows worked, so called the AA and they just replaced it with an equivalent. Plus a side light bulb, i didn't realise mine are blue, but clear when lit, and the difference is pretty big, the clear replacement is more of a horrible yellowish colour, while the other one that's coated in a blue sheath is a lot clearer and whiter. I've got a pretty big goal to reach at Virgin, so i'll be there most evenings too.

Yeah you get loads of grime build up in there mate. Good job to do it once in a while for sure.

Haha, you should get some LED sidelight bulbs mate. I've got some new one's sitting here in my bedroom waiting to be fitted at the weekend. Bought them off Ultraled's.. They are the best one's by far. Ebay one's I've found will fail after a while as they don't tolerate the volt range in the car very well.. Ultraled one's do :D

I was at the gym tonight but only for an hour, was shattered after work. So I'll be chilling on the ps3 soon, lol.

Will have to see you down there one day soon and have a catchup mate.

Cheers matey! I wish it was as close as you make it sound! The finish is a way off yet, I'm going to slap the last BIG mod on her next year too ;)

Cheers for the comment! They are some of my favourite pics of the car.

So would I ;) haha..

Quaife if funds allow if not it'll be the Wavetrac.
Hey Tom, very intertested to read you put a Quaife on your list before a Wavetrac.
I have not owned a car with a Quaife but do own a LCR with a Wavetrac.
From feedback from the Quaife owners I feel the Wavetrac was the right decision.
Very interested to hear your thoughts on this

My initial decision was under the impression that the Wavetrac's didn't have a lifetime warranty like the Quaife's, but I've been doing a bit of reading on a few forums via google search and it seems they do? Is this correct Willie?

In terms of parts, driveability, all I've read is there is practically no difference between the two.. Seems the pattern across a load of various makes and models too. Especially the Jap scene if you have a quick google.

If the Wavetrac's have a lifetime warranty, I'll go for that. The Quaife is around £1400 fitted IIRC. If you don't mind, can you pm me any prices or info on the Wavetrac you think I may want to know?

I won't be getting one for a good while yet, but it'll be the final piece of the jigsaw with the project.

Well as I said I have no experience of the Quaife but when I was makin the decision it was very difficult to sway away from it.
But I'm glad I did.
It cost me £220 for the FZQ, LC, GB
£400 for the refurb and fit
£100 for the OEM fitting kit
And £700 for the diff.

Quaife has a very good name but Wavetrac is a step beyond for sure.

The lifetime warrantry is all about who you get to fit it, I got stealth Racing to do the above work at the above prices and ended up with a prefect GB and a very perfect diff.
I wanted Steath to do this as the came very highly respected and well due in my eyes.

Many many racers use them, ask Bill, AKA Badger 5

No Garrett Ronin, not unless someone buys me the setup, LOL.

LSD... Correct! Will be the final piece of the jigsaw.

Think that will certainly be a good addition to the package you have already got!

I don't know the full ins and outs of these diffs, can I just ask what the FZQ, LC and GB are? Sorry to be a noob. Thanks for listing the prices though dude.

My mate who's local to me has a Wavetrac on his stage 2 LCR and is pretty :-o with the difference in the cars cornering ability now!

I wonder if AmD were the one's to fit it that it'll come with a lifetime warranty then? They are sellers of Quaife setups, but I may call them today to ask about Wavetracs.

It's a big purchase so it'd be nice to know everything now so I know exactly what work gets done and what to expect from the car after. I've never tracked it and it needs ARBs and complete bush overhaul, plus brakes before I can think of it. But it sounds like I may be tempted once a diff goes in.

How would you describe the change from stock to diff in terms of cornering ability and what to expect and look out for?

They sound like the icing on the cake..
