well i got it working again contactable by vcds again phew 
seems if you start playing around with things in the variant info screen you can knock it out of whack.
so this unit can be brand changed to seat if needed.
seems if you want to change the part number to make it fully converted you need to use the E2Ptool which i have yet to find. 3VO035020A becomes 5F0035020D with the last seat firmware.
