Nice Update Sam. That RR graph will be impressive.:)
Have you lost any low down power power in addition to the top end power you've gained.

reckon we can break a real 300bhp with all these new mods..
just 15bhp more to find from them...
should be interesting :)

Thanks bill. If the car is running 100% and with a tweak of the timing i hope we will be close. The car seems to have lost its edge over the last couple of days or i am getting use to it lol. I will change the oil and new spark plugs before a dyno session. As im running the tfsi coils what spark plugs do you recommend and what gap??? Also i would like to book a health check and smoke test before the dyno just to insure the car is spot on :)

says who and with what supporting evidence?
curious

>1mm gap

FAQ:
Why would I convert my 1.8T to use 2.0T coils?

Allthough when we dissected the 2.0T Coil , internally it was the same as a 1.8T unit. I am waiting on getting a 2.8 24V Coil Pack so I can throw up a comparison shot but in the mean time running the 2.0T Coils allow you to run a hotter spark.
We have a few local customers that we did the conversion for and they are extremely happy with the results.

What is the largest gap I can run with these coil packs?

0.04" is what we used. If others have used larger please chime in and post up the data.

Why is the adapter plate needed??

The OEM 2.0T Coils are approx 14mm taller than the 1.8T units. In order to have a seal that allows some form of security with the valve cover, the coil pack requires an adapter plate.

What are the PART #'s ?

RED MKV FSI Coil Packs - 06E 905 115
BLACK MKV FSI Coil Packs - 07K 905 715 F
BLACK MKV TSI Coil Packs - 06F 905 115 F
BLACK MKVI TSI Coil Packs - 06H 905 115

Mine runs so smoothly on idle, to the point that if I'm at a stand still with music on (so you cant hear the engine) you would think the car wasn't even started. Its probably hard for Sam to judge due to the other work he's done.

like I say...
these are just words..
where's the supporting data?

loaded question, as I have done tests, and have data from logs/dyno

performance wise... nada no more torque no more power..
in day to day, reported improved "smoothness" and slight improvement in economy - which cant be a bad thing these days..
bolt on performance gains however.... zip. butkiss, nada, diddly squat with assorted gaps tried vs 0.7mm on stock new 1.8t coils.

I'm with Bill on that one. The post quoted admits that internally the coils are identical to 1.8T items, so I fail to see how they can be any better. I'd wager that those who are claiming any tangible benefit were probably running older revision 1.8T coils before the swap. Yes you probably will find a smoother idle there, same as you would putting in fresh, current-revision 1.8T coils.
