4th gear on your six speed box, as flat a road as you can find.

Airflow looks healthy and it's boosting better in that last log that you've posted, it's making 1.4 bar against 1.2 requested.

I take it that's the new Revo code then? It's certainly less agressive...

well the guys at revo i.e Kev and Simon are being very helpful in getting to the bottom of this and the faulk code that i got could suggest that my FMIC is obviuosly more efficient than the standard ones but it could be that efficient that it has taken a fair chunk of the standard pressure drop, that the ECU is programed to deal with from standard, away. Thus meaning that the ECU no longer has to compensate for a pressure drop and this is what could be throwing up the faults and the problem in the first place.

yes the new revo code is both of the previous posts i have put up and i still think the car is adapting hence maybe why the boost is all over the place at the mo, i am still a novice at this stuff but learning all the time. Kev has asked me to log 114 and 115 tonight 4th gear 2000rpm to 6500/7000rpm to see if his theory about the FMIC is correct

Although i have no proof Pace did say that they struggled to measure a pressure drop across the system their instrumentsonly measured a 0.3 PSI drop in pressure

It has been measured at 3-5psi but that was with alot more air being pushed through than a k04.

The new N75 fixed the duty cycle problems, but I was still "only" getting 191-194 g/sec. I wonder if it was age or that split N75 hose that killed the N75...

The filter was really bogging (I'm sure it wasn't THAT long ago since I cleaned it). I managed a personal best of four fag ends this time

Thanks for your help John (you might stil get a full raft of logs to check though ;) )

Right guys just had an email from Kev letting me know what is possibly wrong with my car and basically to some it up i need a performance exhuast or someone has tampered with my Wastegate actuater think thats how its spelt.

I purchased the car from a police officer in Wales and he didnt do anything to the car and i know i havnt had any need to touch the wastegate, so i think that rules that out but i am getting it looked at anyway. Here is the email i got from Kev,

Hi Ben,

You’re basically overshooting requested boost and load.

Could be down to a couple of things which I’ll go through in a minute. First of all I’d turn down the boost levels (say to maybe 4 or 5) and up the timing (check VAG Com for CF when doing this) This should keep you away from any limits but also get some more power out of her.

I’d not reference the figures you saw on the dyno last month as you’d gone into limp mode on the way there so adaptation values would have been low… pulling settings back.

Looks as though your IC is very efficient although I can’t imagine it’s ‘that’ much more efficient than other ones we’ve seen out there. So problems could be arising from increased flow through the IC and a build up of back pressure with the stock exhaust system. Having said that the wastegate duty cycle looks very low for the requested figures… now this could be down to the hardware setup. But if you didn’t have the IC on I’d say it’s possible that someone’s been playing with the wastegate actuator (attached to the turbo, you’ll see a rod with a threaded end… it’d be the bolts on this that’d have been played with) could be causing the overboost.

It’s difficult to tell exactly what is causing it without checking it against other cars with similar spec/standard spec. We know that a standard spec LCR with software on doesn’t have these issues, we know it works on LCR’s with uprated IC’s, intakes, exhausts as well. So it’s either down to ‘a very efficient IC’ (which would be great although I’m not convinced at this point) in which case we could fettle the code to suit (although Stage 2 is really done for this) or a fettled wastegate actuator. You’d want to test/compare against a known good one.

It might be a benefit to run stage 2, but I’d really put that off until you’ve got the exhaust on. This isn’t necessarily going to fix your problems though if for example the wastegate has been played with. We wouldn’t know that without testing another car of the same spec that’s definitely not been altered.

Unfortunately without knowing the full extent of what’s happened in the past with the car and being able to test the IC/exhaust/etc. It’s very difficult to say. I hope this helps though.

Best Regards,

Kev Hall

sorry to drag ths post up from the past i found the reason for my high g/s and it was down to a perished hose that can be found at the top of the charge pipe very thin thing. Since i have fixed that my car doesnt go into limp mode and no fault codes, however recently been logging my car as i havnt done it since these last posts and my ECU is only requesting 1.1bar at the most and Kev at REVO has said i have the latest code on my car so why is this, i am running B6 T6 everything else seems fine except my airflow is only 176.3g/s which i am guessing is related to this as the higher that goes the more boost i should get right????????
