That's some fancy rear strut brace Mr Pete.

Personally, I'd bolt it in. You might think that you'll never need to take it out, but more than likely you will...

You can always beef up the boot floor with a bit of plate.

Hadn't thought of that, weld some plates to the car and then bolt the battery tray to that :)

that rear suspension is going to need jacking up some more pete.

One of the Reasons I bought reasonably cheap suspension. I think I'll need custom weight springs made up anyway so no point spending big money on these. ;)

lol I think 50x50 is a bit overkill

That's Engineers for you...

They plug the info into the computer which adds the recommended safety margins, then they bend the perameters to add some additional comfort....then double the first number thought of and add that and Voila their professional Indemnity Insurance is never used......but it costs the client 50% more

50x50 too much? Depends on the wall thickness :D

If you were to turn your long lengths so they stood up, then weld the four smaller pieces at the bottom, you'll start to form a tray for the batteries to sit in. Plus, the tube would be stiffer in the vertical moment (just thought I'd throw that in to make it sound like I'm still an engineer ;) ).

Although, for braking the best compromise might be one tube vertical, one kept horizontal with a battery clamp on the tube that's kept horizontal...

Yeah I think it looks great with the smooth boot. I'm looking for a Mk3 boot but I'm 99% convinced I'm keeping the Mk2 rear. Mainly because I think it looks good with the lights running across, but we'll see.
Yeah, I always did like the MK2 rear lights, I think the MK3 ones look a tad lame and out of proportion

The Mk2 ones suit the style I'm after well enough. Especially once I get the new badge made for the center ;)

The boot lock is going as soon as I can figure out how to open the boot without the handle. The struts wont lift the boot as it is never mind with a set of speakers and a screen in there too

Mk3 Mirrors on my cordy

Just finished rewiring and fitting Mk3 Ibiza mirrors onto the Cordy :D

The stubby one looks [B)] I think I might have to get a stubby for the drivers side too...

Also finished painting the front 312mm calipers and carriers ;)

Hopefully this weekend I'l get to sort those troublesome bolts and I'll have 2 TT comps on the car. Then remove the front end parts ready for new bearings and hubs :D
