yea... you need to sand the plastic down so its nice and ruff. (make sure you have cleaned it uber well as any grease or dirt will show up / make the paint come off.

after sanding, primer it a few times... paint it a few times then laquer the hell out of it.

you can (i think) just remove the black part from the front bumper (attached by clips).

Yeh I've had a quick look under my bumper and it looks like it does come off. I've bough the paint and everything just a matter of finding the time to do it. Going to do the mirrors as well. Thought of maybe doing the black strips further on up the bumper but not sure after messing around in photoshop.

Though my photoshopping skills leave a lot to be desired!!!!

Also added a cupra grille, looks sweet i think.

rear trim doesnt come off as far as i know, though correct me if im wrong.

strangely enough im not a big fan of the debadged look, makes the front look too bare. So it'll be a quick wee paint job for me and then a cupra bumper eventually

if i can convince the sensible half of my brain to allow it!

does that mean the front bump strip also doesn't come off?

i'm assuming for this part then, you'd need to mask off the surrounding area REALLY well. Loads of masking tape and newspaper :D

having inspected my car closer there now from what i cant tell.

the back and front bumper strips come off, and the bottom of the front bumper comes off but not the bottom of the rear bumper

hope that helps a bit

*******! makes painting the rear harder!

how much paint would you need to do the whole lot? few cans from halfrauds. If whoever does it first wouldn't mind doin a pic thread with prices etc

*cough* adam *cough*
you know you love doin these guides :D

cool. as i said, i'll do mine in may. also try and get it to bodyshop for nearside wing to be fitted and sprayed. was gonna get rear panel on driveside resprayed as there's a massive scratch next to petrol flap. £300 for lot (well, £280 i think he said)

How much would a full respray be? just out of curiosity? Don't want one, as I'm saving as much as possible for next car, but if its reasonable, i may consider it

Like I said, there isn't a huge amount of noise from it, so it's not that which makes me think it's improved performance. Because it's enclosed, and carbon fiber it's not going to suffer heat soak(or nowhere near as much) like an open cone will, so more likely to improve performance. Seems lot more responsive, it's still no cupra lol but I am honestly surprised it's made a difference :)

lol mat... i should have done the 'how to install new speakers and 4ch amp"

i recently replaced the fronts with a new set of components and got a semi cheap amp to power them aswell as the rear 6x9's. i must say the sound is amazing compared to stock, (i can turn it up to 40 without distortion (and i have the amp gain up a bit aswell!)
