it was 225 incl VAT and Fitting. will probs update my pics of my car on the readers ride section so i dont clog up this thread but will tell you when i have and will try and take a video.

Its a really deep sound with a couple of pops in between sometimes when reving it in neutral... really made up with it.

Was really nervous bout leaving it there cuz seemed like a dodgy place but i did know someone who had got theres done there if i hadnt i would have walked away there and then.

driving around with the music off just so i can listen to it lol im so sad

I'm made up for u :) sounds like a gd decision then! Is it a powerflow one? WHat's name of the garage u took it to? When u got it done did they just ask like how loud u want it etc? Heard thats what they do when it's a powerflow system being fitted.

ps-who needs music when your car sounds sweet? (at not being very loud atm)

nah wasnt powerflow was a company called stealth systems in southampton they aren't part of a franchise (i dont think) but they do a lot of cars with turbos and stuff.

he didnt have as much choice as powerflow would have but the powerflow near me ive heard are cowboys and this guy gets good reviews from people and someone i work with so decided to take the plunge. yer he just asked what sort of sound quiet or loud and i sed somewher in the middle like a deep tone. was same price as powerflow so didnt make any difference.

took him 4 hours so i think they take a lot of care in their work.

Best thing was 2 seconds after it was put on i went to the petrol station as was rush hour and had no petrol to get home and some guy stopped me and asked if it was my car and where i got the exhaust and where from.

He was like sounds really nice and i had a huge smile on my face lol

yer back box i feel is best option as is the cheapest and there is no point i feel in a complete system as not much power gain to be had.

thought bout a filter just bit concerned with everyone saying the fuel consumption goes up dramatically and i aint got the money for that lol pay enough every month as it is

Ive just taken my cheap ass induction kit off aswell, mainly due to my MOT being today but i probably lose about 40/50 miles from a full tank? My Green cotton kit came through thismorning, so im guna give that a go...

Sorry i mean i bought the open cone. My mate has one fitted to his 206 and doesn't see any noticeable fuel consumption loss, so fingers crossed? I dont really understand what gains you'd see by replacing the standard filters, are there any?

Just bought a BMC CDA off a member on here, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes. CDAs sound great though, just hope it doesnt affect fuel consumption TOO much-though ultimately i will put my foot down more so ..

gains are just a sound!

I can't imagine filters, or even exhaust causing an increase in consumption. I think 9 times out of 10 it's just that people change gear later so they can hear the burble of the exhaust/filter. Sure the consumption might change SLIGHTLY, but not a huge noticeable difference on our low powered machine :D

Its true every1 does have a heavier foot when its first fitted, but i drove especially sensible after that period and still made a difference to consuption. More air flow=faster fuel mix.

In theory they increase efficiency due to the increase in air flow. But most of the time they will just cause people to be heavy on the right foot which of course does increase consumption

the other problem is that if the air intake becomes warmer than before, which will most likely increase consumption and reduce power.

The problem i found is the original airbox connected the manifold to the engine to heat it up quicker on startup, so when an ind. kit is fitted the no longer has this, so when i started mine up the other day after 4days of non use there was smoke belowing out the exhaust... fitted original box and all was fine! Cant do much good the engine in the long run imo?
