Hi Harty,

Well i went at this today, it was hard enough as my LCR seems to be put together differently than the one they used on the LCR bumper removal guide form forge.Anyways i got around everything and in stalled the FMIC and kept my fogs:funk:

Unfortunetly i get high pitched squeel when i go on full boost than can only be described by blowing in a party horn, pic below.
party_horns.jpg

Time for a dumb question, does the FMIC have to go a particalur way round? can the inlet/outlet do the same function? failing that i think i have a boost leak somewhere even though i was carefull to make sure everything was tightened correctly.

Some pic below, and yes i am a messy worker:whistle:

you really are a messy worker lol
It doesnt matter which way round the fmic goes mate just sounds like you have a leak some where you didnt tighten the pipes to tight did you and square the pipe just a thought other than that mine never leaked like that just poped a pipe off once :( only ever heard of a squeel when the tip comes away from the turbo just double check every thing and put washing up liquid around the joints and get some 1 to give it a rev mate is the bumper back on now as there a right :censored: to get on and off arnt they failing that mate i really dont know looks good tho nice job but a bit of a pig :D

i am gonna go at it again tomorrow and double check everything, yeah defo a pig of a job, but a lot easier the 2nd time round i'll bet, the squeel is weird, only happens when i floor it, if i increase the rpm slowly its not there, so it must be a leak, i am paranoid now that some shards of metal were left in the alloy pipe even though i wasted them out!!

its is defo easier 2nd time around mate first time i did 1 was on a s3 then did mine a week later if you think its hard on a leon s3 are a total :censored::censored: hopefully no metal got in mate, i just hope its a simple boost leak sound like it only happens when spiking hard so prob just a clamp needs tightening up i found my boost gauge flutterd before my pipe that was leaking popped off try double calmping it, the big clamps dont like tightening in the inlets and outlets very well i swapped mine for jubilee clips was much better and tighter fit just a thought, hope all goes well mate let us know and get a pic with the bumper on :D

Cool. And I assume you brought new jubilee clips as the ones supplied don't even fit the silicon hose. Did you just clamp the hose on the tank ports without any reducers as the hose is bigger than the ports?

yeah bought new clamps take the hose with you get some just sleeve the outlets with the pipe that came with the can then slide the new bigger pipe over them

Going to sound stupid, but I have no idea what you mean by sleeving the outlets. Surely the pipe that came with the tank is same size as the ports?

its sound mate would be easy to show you, the crappy see through pipe that came with the catch tank cut about an inch and put over the ports so it increases the size abit because the ports are only 15mm i think doing this makes the roughley 16-17mm then take your 19mm silicon pipe and put over the crappy pipe on the ports and clamp down nice and tight does that make it a bit easier mate the 19mm pipe fits everything else so no more sleeving needed you got a 19mm t i used a 22 mm copper t with the pre solderd end on and made the 19mm fit over that nice and tight

That makes sense, sorry for being a dumb ass. I got a 19mm plastic t-piece from your link. Will use that as it was nearly a tenner for a bit of plastic. Hopefully will get it done this weekend.

I haven't brought any pipe work yet as I'm not exactly sure what I need. Can't seem to find anyone that has fitted a FMIC to a LC. And I have a cold air intake system just to really make it hard on myself!
