Remember the front ARB needs to be fitted in a garage because they need to drop the front subframe ( unless you can do this yourself) so factor in there costs.

Cost me £60 at a local garage to have mine fitted.

No idea if thats expensive or not but at least it gives you some idea.

I reckon the one rsmith has would get in the way of your catch tank.

Maybe, Harty i will get some pictures with an aerial view if you like. Also thinking about it, the S3 brace might also get in the way of your catch tank, it actually goes lower and further back to the cabin.

Thats a decent price for fitting alright, but the S3 brace cost €140 + €60 for fitting in Ireland, so the €33 strut brace and free fitting by me, worked out better.

When you have got five mins that would be good, thanks mate, could do without it fouling up on the catch can

Here ya go sorry some of the pics are blurry, my hands were shaking it so frickin cold out.
I think you will be fine with this strut brace, but you may need to add some clips to stop rubbing on the catch tanks pipe work.If you want clearance measurements, thats no problem, just let me know.

I think now you should look at the S3 brace, i am nearly 100% sure your catch tank will be in the way, but please request pic on here(someone must have one)or look thru the readers rides.

Hi mate, quick question if you don't mind. I too hve decided to go down the custom route for the FMIC. However they have run out of the 90 degree alloy bends required. They do have 60mm ones and wondered if these will do in your opinion? They have been out of stock for 2 weeks and now saying that they wont have them for another 2 weeks or so!!

hi mate would these not be ok there 63mm o/d 90degree and are quite cheap i have used these people before and are quite good see what you think http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alloy-Bend-90-Degree-L-Elbow-63mm-2-1-2-Silicone-Hose_W0QQitemZ140360930831QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item20ae29d60f

I see those ones but will they be long enough? As I have gone for a slightly different cooler the inlet/outlet are 60mm so went for these 45 degree reducers http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290398049040&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

They are abit shorter than the ones you have used so not sure if I get the shorter 90 degree alloy pipes whether everything will fit properly!!

I too have used these guys plenty of times and have nothing but good feedback for them!!

thats prob an even better set up with 60mm in and oulets mate i would use all 60mm pipe work now, i only used 63mm because i couldnot find a 57-60mm 45degree reducer, oe pipe work is 60mm any way ie the charge pipe and map sensor, so dont use the 60mm to 63mm reducer keep it all 1 size if possible that is how i would of had it if i had a 60mm in and outlet cooler hope this make sense, if you want to uses 63mm them bends would be sound as i cut a good few inches of each end to keep it tight to the car these bends are 6 inch from bend so should be long enough but like i say i would uses 60mm all the way now no step up or down so better flow
i would use
4x 60mm 90s allloy
2x60mm 45s alloy
7x60mm couplers silicone
15 sutabley sized clamps preff miklor

hope this helps

Thanks for that, really appriciate you doing that, it helps alot looks like there will be a bit of space so hopefully wont catch to much :D

Harty, did the sound of your Turbo spololing up change when you added your FMIC, i had a blow off yesterday and not the good kind!, luckily it was the hose by the lower charge pipe and i had tools in the car, so i got it going on the side of the motorway, it was misery though.

I totally refitted my FMIC today and made sure everything was double clamped, now however my turbo has a more of a high pitched whistle on hard boost, i logged my boost after the refit and it is spot on.

So would fitting a FMIC change the pitch of the turbo spool, did you notice this, i didn't first time round but on the 2nd fitting it did :confused:
I am hoping i don;t have another boost leak.

shame about the blow off mine blew off there aswell but has been good for a fair few miles of 1.54 bar of boost so is holding well
i would say yes mine is defo louder and a better noise i think its due to the echo through the alloy pipes mate that makes it sound like that

If your hoses have blown off there's a very high risk of serious turbo damage as the lack of back pressure would allow the turbo to over spin and potentially cause damage.

hope it's just the alloy pipes though

Hmm, never thought of damage to the turbo, when the pipe blew off the whole car switched off, engine, power steering etc... not much good when you are doing 130kph on the motorway.
The sound is like a really tuned whistle when the boost comes on, i think it could be a pin whole leak somewhere but there is so much going on under my bonnet it is hard to get a clear indication of where it is from. Luckily Ko4's are not that much these days

Anyway, i have decided to change my setup and remove the 45degree silicon reducers, they are just to long and they compress if they are at any angle, i have deciced to go this way, with mostly alloy pipes and i think it will make the flow better.
