tbh, most things I've changed was because of the hybrid. the extra power obviously speeds up the wear.

the gearbox has been changed twice, and is (ive been told) something thats common.

only just did the wheel bearings at the back, so they have done way over 100k!

all bushes have been changed and on inspection the old ones werent great but still usuable.

Always passes the MOT and never has advisories.

I'm getting a light now and again for a short on 1 and 4 glowplugs. but I've just cleared it and its then fine for a few weeks again ?!

but tbh most things ive changed was to upgrade, so they've probably not had the chance to fail :)

it feels like a car thats done more like 40k, eveything still feels tight etc, and seems to still pull like a train. and annoy the petrol boys!

They are pretty strong engines. But I can see some rod issues happening when you start hitting the genuine 260bhp barrier. I am definately not there yet and I dont think I will be even with the new cam. Probably get a healthy 245bhp with a nice torque curve.

I'm new to the site, and getting my 150TDi tomorrow with my other half...

Firstly, nice thread, took a while to read through lol..

Secondly, is ur air feed expensive?? Do they make a BMC one for the cupraD??

Then to the insurance... I'm 28 with 5yrs no claims tied up in a 215bhp 406coupe 3.0 v6. The other half is however 20, and only got 3 yrs no claims, our best price by a million miles has come from a broker called ******, they'v managed to beat everyone by a couple of hundred quid on both this car (in my gf's name) and have always managed to smash everyone into the blue with the coupe insurance, including all mods declared!!

By the look of your readouts, from the early one's then it made a bit of a difference to the power too?? Unless your engine had more done to it when you got hold of it?? From the 148 book standard to the 175 you had..... That's some jump up!!

As I say, am new to the site and my Cupra, so will given time will there with it!! I'm quite a petrol head as normal, think turning into a durv head is going to take some time to get into lol
