MKIV/Leon Brembo Brakes

Looks like ET38 and curvy spokes (on the backs like the LCR alloys anyway) are needed for Leon Brembos. :( The RS4's fitted with 8mm spacers but suffered vibration above 60 so the whole lot had to come off again. :grump:

Anyone got LCR alloys for sale (How much are they from SEAT)?

TT 17's fit!

Which wheels are these? I think I know the ones but not sure, are these on the S3 too? These ones:

Or S3 wheels ...

So if I bought these, had them powder-coated anthracite or black, they'd look cool and have loads of room for Brembos?

I have another solution, a Godspeed Brembo kit! Ian uses 2-piece discs and he says the caliper and discs sit further in which allows much more wheel clearance - he's confident his Brembos will fit behind my wheels no problem, they are £100 dearer but he guarantees his discs will not warp even in track use, which is a good guarantee!
Ian's a brake genius, tons of Scooby guys go to him for big brakes, they can get 335mm discs behind 17" wheels so he's good! You can also have any kind of disc you want - grooved, plain, drilled, both, whatever.

I'm either gonna get the Godspeed kit or the TT wheels and powdercoat them.

Hi.
From my experience, The original 03 17"s do not fit.
If you want good looking, and fitting of the Brembos, put the Cupra R type 17"s ( not 18"s). They are very good looking and fit very well.
Theodore.

Is there space in there for the balancing weights, Bill?

Was thinking of going for 17"x 7.5 / 7 MO's for the Corrado in preparation for Brembo fitting but if it gives the same aggro re: balancing weights that I have using 16"s on the Ibiza, I'll look elsewhere.

Yea plenty.... on Golfy
Much better than the Ibiza's OE Ibiza-R rims had.... mucho rubbing numbers off the thinnest stick on weights with them... VERY close.

(MK4 clear MO's easily)

Good stuff - it looks a little close in that photo, you see?

On a slightly related note - do you know if it's possible to get slicks or 'road-legal' grooved slicks in a 205 or 215 /40/17 equivalent size?

Andy, so the standard 6 spoke Audi TT 17" alloys fit over Brembos no problem you say, with plenty of clearance? Please say these are the right ones!

I've just picked up a cheap set and am going to have them refurbished and powdercoated anthracite or polished. Brembos here I come!

Bill, how much work do you reckon it will be to get these to fit my Ibiza?

It is currently using 288MM brakes, which I assume are the same as the MK4 Golf setup.

I won't be going for these yet, I have a long way to go before I can afford these, but I'm planning for the future (the TT 6 spokes are sorted, the TT Competitions are already here :))

Cheers mate!

I really don't know sight unseen.
Needs investigating and trying out a few parts to see what does or does'nt fit etc...
