I didn't think you had a facelift one with the Common Rail engine?
For god sakes make sure your tyre pressures are bang on to manufacturer spec!
Makes a massive difference to mine... 40mpg to 48 mpg on motorway runs!
As long as you don't have a tires that has one at 50psi at thew rear 45psi for the other rear tire and 40psi at the front as checked at PDI from the dealer !! Made for a slightly frim ride Oh and the headligts cut out to early distance wise due to the rear being too high!!!
hi
ive had a 57 reg fr for a month and covered about 2k miles in it.i had a 55 reg golf 140bhp which i had remapped.i have to say i wish i never swapped it it was faster and about 10mpg better on all driving,i drove it hard all the time im not even driving this as hard and its loads worse.ive booked it in garage to check it out.its doing mainly 40mpg combined but my big problem is with foot down on motorway im getting 30mpg thats never right.
Sounds like you have an issue a guess would be the DPF/Sensor casing over fuelling. As the in your PD engin you should be getting the same as you did in your Golf. I would get it checked out as the consumption is too high. 38-40 mpg seems about right for the PD engine.
Sadly the VAG 170 engine does seem to be having recurring problems across the marques with injectors and the DPF. If you brought it from a garage and have warranty on it get it checked out.
My gf's mum has a leon stylance 2.0 tdi 140 and it is WAY better on fuel than my stage 2 fr with dpf delete(which is suppose to increase mpg). If sit at 80-90 with a bit of booting it, ill be lucky to see 33-35 mpg. I have drove my gf's mum's 140 and obviously it is fairly slow but the fuel consumption is easily 6-8mpg better driving in the same manner.
If i give the car serious stick i have seen it as low as very late teens and early 20's( again with driving it like i stole it!)
The FR PD170 is s**t on fuel for a diesel
