Don't need the bumper off for the turbo pipe, only the pancake replacement... There are 4 screws in each arch, a couple underneath and 2 which you get at through the front mesh; you will notice that 2 gaps in the mesh are bigger than the rest.

Yeah turbo pipe is quite easy to get at once the skid tray is off.

Great thread, please could you let me know the part number for the parcel shelf storage?

Near Miss Disaster

What are the benefits of one of these and are they hard to fit? I always enjoy your updates as it means I can do the same to my car :p

Ooh yeah, I'm just the test dummy am I?! Haha.
Glad you like it guys!

I will update you tomorrow as I had a set back this morning. Put the car on axle stands but was using a jack and a couple of bricks to raise it higher before I could raise the stand itself... Anyhow the car fell sideways away from me off the jack!!! Luckily no damage but I could see where the morning was leading if I carried on! So threw in the towel as it was getting close to the visiting hours to see my nan in hospital.

I've now put the car on ramps instead and will install the bush in the morning. I'm in wales this weekend so the drive home tomorrow will give me plenty chance to test it out and give a good update.

Yes, test dummy!

That's lucky with the jack, at least you weren't underneath it :O

Sounds like a lucky escape with the car falling! Let us know what it's like once installed.

Right an update on the mount...
Firstly a quick picture walk through of what was done.

Mount comes off via 4 bolts - 1 through centre of the bush and 3 on the bracket by my hand

As you can see, standard bush is only held in 2 places and so has 'lots' of play

Old bush sawn out with a small blade

Outer part of bush can be easily removed by getting under the skin of it with a small chisel

Used the grease which comes with the bush to lubricate it and pressed it in to the mount with the vice

Test fitted, but the rubber lip which now protrudes the steel of the mount prevent it fitting back in to the slot under the car, sooo, some trimming was required.
Also filed it down just to get a relatively neat finish. (I trimmed the side which will face the floor).

Finished article before I fitted it back to the car.

Engine will rock when re-installing but the engine does not need supporting when installing this.

Thoughts:
Worth the money for £30
Wheels feel more planted and engine doesn't rock as much.
I would say it reduces understeer
Vibration is really not an issue, I was worried it would rattle the cabin to bits from what if been reading about the petrol versions lol - but the diesel one is really more of just a rumble and is only noticeable when not moving.

Mods to follow

Thanks mate!

Right, updates to come soon...

A couple of 15mm spacers will arrive in next few days to space out the rear wheels (need to get some 10mm for the fronts)
Rolling Road Day at Awesome on 29th of this month to see what she's running with the mods to date before any mapping
April will hopefully see her at Darkside for mapping and hard cut limiter (any opinions on hard cut limiters? I'm unsure whether I will like it or not?)

If I have any spare cash there will be some silicone bends to finish off the I.C Pipework, although they aren't really needed right now.

After the map is done May will hopefully see a ferodo pads, braided brake lines and better brake fluid too as I didn't like the way I over cooked my current pads last night! Completely faded on me!! Not sure what any of the brakes are as they haven't needed touching since I bought it tbh.
And also a RARB

Thanks

Dan
