How do you clean your car?
What do you think is the best way to clean it?

pay a guy to do it...

Does not compute.

But I guess it depends on whether you care for your car or not? Me, I get a lot of satisfaction cleaning and protecting paintwork on my cars. I don't want to trust that to others.

There are plenty of superb detailers who will do a great job for a price, but I enjoy doing it myself.

The most important piece of advice I can give is never ever ever use a sponge! Get something made of sheepskin or similar as it's much less likely to cause swirly scratches.

Oh and I always clean off bird crap as soon as possible after it happens. I left a couple of splats for a few days on my old car and it completely destroyed the paint finish.

If it can't be done properly then it doesn't get a wash. There's a detailer near me that does washes or I do it myself. Otherwise my car goes to him every three months for a full exterior detail.

I bought a demo FR 2 weeks ago with 2k km on it but it had been washed with a brush. Great. It's got to go in for a light correction now as a result which is absolutely fantastic:mad:

Car dont get scratched as dirt is encapulated and somehow is moved away from paint, used it on my last car for 3 years, and can honestly say no scratches as a result of using it, I total understand why peeps are causious about said product, but I can recommend 100%.

I second that, have used for 5+years on sometimes very dirty ( not muddy..........not that brave ) cars with great results and not a scratch to be seen. Amazing stuff for a very quick wash and polish.

One thing to remember though is to use good quality microfibre cloths for putting on and taking off.

Rinse with pressure washer, snowfoam, rinse again, wash two bucket method, dry with drying cloth, coat AG super resin polish, dodo juice wax as a final protection step back and admire the shine because it will be filthy again innext to no time :)

Sneaks in...

Admits to using the car wash - once every six weeks or so...

And then runs for cover! Haha.

I know I should show a bit more care, but I really can't be bothered. Maybe when I buy an Aston Martin I'll consider handwashing, but not for the Leon or the Qashqai. Washing it too often will just show up all the stone chips I never got repaired! :p

I find the snowfoam works better if you do not pre-rinse.

My mother washed her Mitsubishi Colt every w/e in a car wash until she passed me the car after 5/6 years. Couldn't see out of the window there were so many little scratches. At night it was like a starburst. As to the paintwork....
