Dear Community,
For all of you driving a Mk3 Seat Leon Cupra with the EA888 Gen 3 Engine (280, 290, 300 ps), have you ever had any issues with your oil pump?
I was watching a German mechanic saying that the oil pump on these cars are not well designed, they have too low of an oil pressure and it should be updgraded to a pump that "he sells" - Basically has a smaller gear that creates more oil pressure and some valves to regulate the additional presure.
Not sure what your experience so far has been with the oil pump failures?
I don't have any issues with my Cupra 280ps 2015 so far - 87'000 km. What are your thoughts, and do you think it is worth replacing the pump out of prevention, or is he just trying to sell his bread?
Best to all!
