Rumour has it that trying to insure most of the JLR range is pretty much impossible in London at the moment....
Isn’t that because there’s something like being able to unlock them by whacking a headlight - safety system unlocking the car in the event of a crash?

This time around it was only 3000 but I had a van to use and the car has been off the road for 3 months so I put it down as 8k with 2k business miles, which should be there or there abouts what I expect to use. Most of my usage is local.

I didn't declare any mods with Admiral so why they wanted over £1k is bonkers.
That’s bonkers!

I think insurance companies just pick numbers out of the air…it always seems that way when using compare the market!

Quick follow up...

Ended up going with Adrian Flux as they almost halved the quote over the phone and it includes some future mods planned (facelift, Eibach springs etc) so it's worth paying a bit more than the cheapest quote I had, which was £580, to cover a couple thousand in parts.

Just received my renewal invite (my policy renews in a month’s time) - my premium has actually gone down! 😲; not by much - only an £18 reduction compared to my current premium but nevertheless, still a reduction.

I’ll still be shopping around to see what other well known, reputable competitors are quoting for comparable cover / same excess as I currently have 🤔.

Just run a renewal quote on the Aviva website on a like for like basis with my current cover which is with LV=. Aviva are £84 cheaper than the LV= renewal price.

So with LV=‘s quote for this year being £18 less than last year’s price, and Aviva being £84 cheaper than LV=‘s renewal for this year, I’ll be paying £102 less than last year’s price 🙂.

I‘m more than happy with that, and Aviva fits my criteria of being a well known reputable company - I’ve used them before and have been very satisfied with their service.
